RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted August 1, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2020 My replenishment for styrene strip finally turned up, so yesterday evening I made a concerted effort on the house, tackling windows, doors etc. Here's a reminder of the prototype: And here's the result so far: The front door is a placeholder for now, as the prototype is quite an intricate design which I need to work on. The roof is glued down now, so the next job is a spot of tileage, and then I can paint it and add the finishing touches: rain water goods etc. Thanks for looking. You're inattentive! I got really upset the first time one of those applause icons appeared on one of my posts because I thought it was a sarcastic slow clap Edited August 3, 2020 by chuffinghell 2
RMweb Gold JCL Posted August 3, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 3, 2020 You’re right of course, very inattentive indeed. I can see how it could be taken both ways! I’m still working out when it’s appropriate to use the t-square icon.

I've been using the forum's engineers square icon Unfortunately I've only just noticed it's about 3° out of square, could explain why some of my builds are wonky Edited August 3, 2020 by chuffinghell 1 1 4
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted August 4, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 4, 2020 I've managed to finish tiling the roofs: Just waiting for the PVA to dry a bit, and then I can paint them. Al. 12 6
RMweb Gold Popular Post Alister_G Posted August 4, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 4, 2020 And now, it's painted: I had a spillage on the wall above the porch, despite having masked it, so some repair work will be needed there. Next to do, the rainwater goods, and detailing the doors. Thanks for looking, Al. 13

RMweb Gold Rowsley17D Posted August 5, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 5, 2020 That looks very effective, Al. It looks as though it seen quite a few Derbyshire winters. Just one thing if I may? Any chance of a bit of filler in that bay window where two pieces join? The other corners/joins look so good. 3 1

RMweb Gold JustinDean Posted August 5, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 5, 2020 Just been looking at the Modelu guttering this morning and most likely going to order some parts. Here’s the link Al: https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/detailing-components/architectural-detailing/guttering/ The house is looking great! RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted August 5, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 5, 2020 Thanks very much Jay, I was just looking at their stuff, it really is impressive, so I've ordered a load. 2 week lead time, sadly, so the house may have to wait a while, but it should be worth it.
