RusselBridge2017
CHELTENHAM MODEL RAILWAY SPRING EXHIBITION 6th & 7th APRIL 2019. The legend that is Mike Walker holds his 49th Model railway exhibition the weekend of the 6th and 7th April 2019 at St Margarets Hall, Coniston Road, Chelt, GL51 3NU Adults are £5 this time but I am sure you will not mind the slight rise in ticket charge when you consider Mike has donated over £30K to Clic Sargent over the years. The layouts are always very good but for me the high spot this time must be a O gauge modelling demo by John Emerson, returning to his ancestral home, it will make a change for there to be a decent and experienced demo this time, "winking emoji" " LOL". Layouts: 1 - BURNHAM-ON-SEA 2 - GARE DE BRINDILLE 3 - WINTERWELL-ON-THE-FOSSE 4 - HILLSIDE MINE HERITAGE RAILWAY 5 - TONY’S FOREST 6 - YATE ROCKS TRAMWAY 7 - WHITCLIFFE QUARRY BRANCH 8 - THE END OF THE LINE 9 - THOMAS 10 - NORTHBRIDGE 11 - BIKSTON ROAD ENGINE SHED 12 - GRAVELLY OAK 13 - DENT Exhibitors and Displays: A - CLIVE REID - PRE-OWNED MODEL RAILWAYS B - MODELLING DISPLAY - STEVE HARROD C - MODELLING DISPLAY - MARK BEGLEY D - MODELLING DISPLAY - ANDI DELL E - MODELLING DISPLAY - TREVOR HALE F - MODELLING DISPLAY - JOHN EMERSON G - STEWART BLENCOWE - RAILWAY TIMETABLES, BOOKS, PHOTOS & SLIDES H - MODEL BUS FEDERATION (WEST AREA) PRESENTS PAUL MELLOR NORTHWESTERN (GLOS) & ANDY PECKHAM TRAVEL 2000 I - N.A.R.T.M. Melangoose
We took Melangoose there a couple of years ago. It is a very friendly show, well worth a visit. Take my hat off to Mike, raising all that money over the years.
RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted April 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) A few more pics of Gare de Brindille - latest addition to the roster is a WDLR heavy gun carrier based on the replica built at the Moseley Trust for Tracks to the Trenches 2018. On a similar theme I've also built a gun carrier based on an 'F' wagon Edited April 3, 2019 by Gilbert
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted April 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2019 Had a great day there today with the Abbotswood DCC demo Much interest and held the attention of several potential future modellers for a good while .... driving our locos up and down a passing loop of Kato track worked well for them. Back again tomorrow.... Phil
RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted April 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2019 (edited) A nice show with a variety of layouts and demonstrators - passed a pleasant few minutes chatting to John Emerson who was working in O gauge. Gare de Brindille ran well despite a chain drive issue on a Simplex which saw the "reserve" Baldwin pressed in to use for most of the afternoon. RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted April 8, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 8, 2019 D6320 and D6331 often worked off Gloucester late 60s/early 70s. Whitecliffe quarry was at the show so a chance for them to revisit old forest haunts..... Many thanks for the opportunity folks!
