RMweb Gold big jim Posted November 27, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) Must admit I was torn between the bundle packs they were selling at warley (wagon, 2 vehicles, chocks and tie downs) or the final set of rail adventure barriers on the stall and I went for the barriers, was the bundle a warley only thing or can it be bought from the shop too (after payday!) any chance of doing a foxhound/oscelot vehicle, I don’t think they would be carried on your wagons due to the loading gauge but they would fill the gaps on my warwells on my MOD train? rob D2
There’s a heck of a lot of vehicles T4U could go at and make a really decent , “ side hussle” as I believe it’s called today .Controversally , they could also do some for the Hattons warwell, I’d love a decent warrior and cradles and that spans a whole lot of time.
Trains4U
I'm pleased to say that the vehicles are now available via our website. We have three vehicles available with more being added soon! The British Army Armoured WMIK - suitable for 2010 to present £10.00 each http://www.trains4u.com/p/145292/3D-Printed-Un-Armoured-WMIK-Unpainted-Resin-Model-(1:76-Scale) The British Army Unarmoured WMIK - suitable for 2000 - present £10.00 each http://www.trains4u.com/p/145292/3D-Printed-Un-Armoured-WMIK-Unpainted-Resin-Model-(1:76-Scale) and the late Alvis CVR(T) Spartan Armoured Personnel Carrier, suitable for 1990- 2010 £12.50 each http://www.trains4u.com/p/145293/3D-Printed-Spartan-Unpainted-Resin-Model-(1:76-Scale) All vehicles are supplied unpainted and require some tidying and assembly. You will need a 1.6mm drill bit and Cyano (super) glue to complete. Needless to say, these were incredibly popular at Warley, and we are printing further models this weekend.
RMweb Gold BR Blue Posted December 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 3, 2022 I picked up some Spartans at Warley. I will have to add a few more. Once painted up they look great. 1
Trains4U
We have a few more vehicles in the works… I’m going to have to put entries for all these elsewhere soon! in addition to the late spartan, we now have the early version, with mudguards and smaller headlights. this covers the 1978- early 1990s period. The stowage box is an optional fit. Secondly, is the first-gen WMIK, which is suitable for the 1990s this lacks the top-armour of the later variant and has steel “wolf” wheels Thirdly, One vehicle that has always been a huge gap in the market the Series 3 109 GS Truck. this will be available in both hard-top and canvas tilt versions This is an essential vehicle for any military formation in the 70s, 80s and early 90s There are some changes required, including military bumpers, and we are looking at options for clear glazing (this is likely to be pre-cut acrylic) finally, and perhaps most requested… The Jackal! this is the current light reconnaissance vehicle of the British army, with over 430 in service since 2008. This version is the Jackal 2, in service from 2009. We are looking at options for the earlier version. This brings our range bang up to date! these designs are undergoing finalisation and we should begin production in the next 3-4 weeks. pricing is TBC but will be along similar lines to existing models. yet more vehicles are in the pipeline… watch this space! Trains4U
In case anyone is wondering the .50 cal weapon on the Jackal is a separate part. They’d never be fitted for rail transport! 4

Tugs
If I could like these posts more than once, I would! Excellent stuff! Pedant-hat on again (sorry, I can't help it, very similar to the day job!), the little ECM antennas on the "table" on the rear of the Jackal would be removed too, and they lower the suspension so the tops of the wheels are almost touching the wheel arches (trying to find a photo, but may have to wait until I'm back at work on Monday...). 1
Trains4U
The antennas we know about. I’ll look to see what options we have for wheel fitting as it may be possible to fix the wheels higher in the wheelarches during construction. we are also ensuring the side steps can be stowed in the upright position I’m keen to provide a kit that will suit both railway modelling and war gaming Edited January 21, 2023 by Trains4U 3

You're making absolutely the right choice to support rail modellers and wargaming, so definitely support you on that decision making process. A trade off between "needing a bit of modelling", simple construction, simple production, and accuracy is always a hard one to make. Luckily for my job I only have to worry about production of the 3d model, and its accuracy... The models are excellent tho, your CAD guy (guys/girls? :D ) really has an eye for it! KDG
Hi Gareth. When you do the rest of the CVR(T) range e.g. Sultan, Samaritan, would you be able to do Scimitar 2 ( which is stretched new build Spartan chassis, with Scimitar turret - one for the Warwells) Cheers

You're right Rob. I don't think there's a 1/76 th scale Warrior currently available. I have some of the diecast ones, but at 1/72nd they are too big. I've tried to build the etched Warrior cradle but it defeated me sadly.
Trains4U
It would be quite a way down the list as we ate primarily investing in loads for the warflat. but we will look at broadening the range over time. coincidentally, the Warrior is the first vehicle I ever drove (barring go-carts and dodgems!) when I was a 15 year old Air-cadet! And I’ve just made myself sad realising that was thirty years ago… 1

Butlers Printed Models do a 1/76 Warrior https://www.butlersprintedmodels.co.uk/20mm/20mm/post-ww2/20mm/post-ww2/british/20mm/post-ww2/british/tracked/warrior-20mm.html This is the plastic printed version which needed some filing to remove the layering but they now do resin prints as well which should be better. They also do the cradle which is less detailed than the etched version but that is not obvious with a Warrior on top. 1

RMweb Premium Grampus Posted January 23, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 23, 2023 Delighted with my late Spartans, which arrived at the weekend, thank you; now looking forward to the earlier version as well. Also another vote for the Samaritan and Sultan high-top variants, please, when you can get round to it. Great work - keep doing what you're doing! Best wishes, Paul
