Steamport Southport
You have to be persistent and look at places like Amazon, eBay, Book Depository and railway book sellers. They do come up and are normally priced about £15. Don't pay over the odds. Try Kidderminster Railway Museum. http://www.krm.org.uk/wildswan.htm Jason
MartinWales
Worth trying bookfinder.com too!

Chris Bowden
Thanks for the suggestions; Kidderminster Railway Museum no longer operate bookselling or even reply to enquiries. I have tried all the other suggestions and the going price seems to start at £75.! Chris
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted June 19, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 19, 2019 I have a copy of said book in mint condition (although the cover has faded slightly after sitting on shelves for many years), it's hardly even been looked at - bought for a project which never happened. The difficulty is the price, it seems to command a high price on the second hand market so I'm not going to let it go too cheaply, sorry, I don't know you and you may be a dealer who then makes a good profit from my goodwill - don't take it personally, I'm letting you know up front that I won't be "giving it away". I won't be upset if you want to wait for a cheap copy but PM me if interested.

No, I am not a dealer nor rich enough to pay the silly prices being asked. I am a newbe to coach building so look to learn before making expensive mistakes. I think I may have shot myself in the foot by contacting so many bookseller to express an interest in this book therby helping to maintain the ridiculous price. I am not interested in the condition even a poor copy which is readable will suffice. regards Chris
Steamport Southport
Unless you are desperate I would keep looking. I've seen dozens of copies over the last year or two for less than £20. The reason I've been looking was I was after Part Three which I only recently found out was never released. Jason

Chris Bowden
Hi Jason looks like there was no part three but if you know of a part 2 for sale (or even on loan) please email me christopher.bowden@mypostoffice.co.uk. the 4mm Coach by Stephen Williams Part 2 (Wild Swan 20000 ISBN 9781874103615) I have been searching for months for this book on the internet worldwide as well as all the usual sources. Even those few libraries that have a copy of Part 2 refuse to lend it. Any suggestions? Chris Bowden

RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted July 26, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) Many British booksellers list their stock on ABEBooks.co.uk and this is usually my first port of call when looking for a specialist book. Unfortunately they don't currently have what you're looking for either: https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&cm_sp=SearchF-_-home-_-Results&an=williams&tn=4mm+coach&kn=&isbn= But stock lists are changing all the time... doilum
Try ordering it from your local library. They may be able to get a copy from tthe British Lending Library at Boston Spa. This way you can evaluate its usefulness before parting with cash.
