This could be one of the worst songs ever written

Virtually any pop or dance song from the late 1980s and 1990s. By far the worst decade or so for music IMO.

Some decent stuff coming out of the metal, rock and indie scenes, but the mainstream was terrible. Full of awful cover versions that were worse than the originals by the likes of Robson and Jerome, Take That,  Boyzone, Wet, Wet, Wet. etc.

Not to mention the utter tripe that Pete Waterman was releasing....

......"Baby Shark"!!  (parents of young children in the last couple of years will know what I mean).

A couple of schools that I know have banned this from the school grounds .. apparently with parental approval.

Bound to divide opinion, a thread based on artistic output. I do however have an axe to grind...

@Emeli Sandé

I get it. We're all special. Now write some songs sodding relevant.

Ed Sheeran:

You aren't Paul Simon, go away.

Paul Simon can't even get home and is still stuck on Widnes station. :P

Mind you, Chris Rea has been "driving home" for many, many years - perhaps he needs a better Sat Nag? :P

But Mr. Simon's career wasn't predicated on one song involving Framlingham Castle.

Don't get me wrong, Ed's a Suffolk lad done good, good on him. He's no songwriting messiah though. Neither is Ms. Sandé. Much as the Beeb would have us believe otherwise.

Do one seasonal number and wait for the PRS cheques to roll in.

Children's further education and mortgages have been paid for doing such!
