didcot
I dunno, you'd have to go along way to beat anything by Simply Red for worst songs ever. Musical version of watching paint dry!

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted October 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 2, 2019 John Lennon 'Imagine'. I've heard more musicality from wind-chimes.
RMweb Premium Kylestrome Posted October 2, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 2, 2019 "This could be one of the worst songs ever written" If only Kenny Everett was still here. I'm sure he could have come up with much worse than that. Interesting film, though ...
34theletterbetweenB&D
Still trying to erase 'You came on my pillow, like a sleepy blue ocean' from aural memory. Don't need to add any more 'worst songs', I'll take this one on trust simply on the basis of the barnet.

rodshaw
This one is pretty dire - written by Terry Jones and Michael Palin apparently. A sort of cheesy modellers' anthem... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMntdWHDNVU 1
mike morley
Out of curiosity, I've just been onto YouTube to watch/listen to Justin Bieber for the first time. Now my nose is bleeding as well.
Steamport Southport
Virtually any pop or dance song from the late 1980s and 1990s. By far the worst decade or so for music IMO. Some decent stuff coming out of the metal, rock and indie scenes, but the mainstream was terrible. Full of awful cover versions that were worse than the originals by the likes of Robson and Jerome, Take That, Boyzone, Wet, Wet, Wet. etc. Not to mention the utter tripe that Pete Waterman was releasing.... Cannot recall who came out with it on air referring to some such drivel, but it made me laugh, 'It's as weak as water, man'.

Ozexpatriate
There was 20 minutes of that bus song? MacArthur Park is widely thought to be the worst pop song ever.

Classsix T
Bound to divide opinion, a thread based on artistic output. I do however have an axe to grind... @Emeli Sandé I get it. We're all special. Now write some songs sodding relevant. Ed Sheeran: You aren't Paul Simon, go away. C6T.

Classsix T
But Mr. Simon's career wasn't predicated on one song involving Framlingham Castle. Don't get me wrong, Ed's a Suffolk lad done good, good on him. He's no songwriting messiah though. Neither is Ms. Sandé. Much as the Beeb would have us believe otherwise. C6T. Do one seasonal number and wait for the PRS cheques to roll in. Children's further education and mortgages have been paid for doing such! C6T.
