I can tolerate the lining but I do wish Hornby would get to grips with the paint. Heaven knows, they’ve been knocking out poor finishes for years now and improvement is slow. I’d also like Hornby to sort out the trailing wheels, Bachmann V2 style. With SK gone, perhaps our chance of an A2/1 has gone. More recent takes on the green have been much better. The 2mt is very good but of course has the advantage of being mostly diecast so the paint gets a better sheen. But the most recent 61xx is very convincing and the latest plastic A4 (60030) looks much improved. BR Green does seem to confound the RTR manufacturers - the Accurascale Manor is good but the EE Type 3 is matt and looks like old style Hornby. Likewise Dapol with the BR green though they seem better at GWR green. Bachmann and Heljan seem to be the most consistent and their renditions look ‘right’ to me. 1 3
