Next up i by chance nabbed a pair of 325 DMs for something to do.

painted them and liked them so much that i bought the trailer/motor car to match

ive got to put the pantograph on there, weather/glaze and then sort a motor out.

will likely use Bachmann 158 parts.

And thirdly, the 378 project has progressed a lot.
went for the newer livery as i like the more sleek look to it.

absolute pain to paint this, but its worth it.

just waiting on Charlie to design the chassis for them now as im itching to use it!

Good evening,

Apologies, I managed to miss this. Yes, chassis and bogies are now in production and I have sold a batch of them through my ebay account. I will keep on restocking them when they run out though as there's quite a few out there with 195/6/7s that might want the chassis.

In other news, the range continues to grow with a variety of additions including the class 81!

Is there a particular rtr chassis that would suit this, please?

Just wanted to say thank you to @m0rris - I bought a class 334 a few months back, and have finally got to the point of painting. I'm delighted with the model, and very impressed - it's well detailed, weighty and the resin used is nicely flexible, rather than brittle. Just enough to get the wheels into the bogies (although I did find them a little snug, but easy enough to ream - always better that way than too loose!).

I'm really enjoying this build. 7eddd4cd-bede-4c8c-955f-9b999e459aa9.jpg.b92b46a187268fa0a6b0b0836e7ae8d7.jpg

Next thing on the to-do list is figuring out where to get a suitable pantograph, and sorting couplings between the cars.

Most of my customers have been using the Bachmann class 85 as there are alot of similarities between the 2 designs including the core dimensions for the chassis (bogie centres etc).

Hi Jon,

I have the chassis, the bogies haven't come out too well, for the older models they need a bit of material filed away to fit. If you are interested let me know.

That looks fantastic, great work all round!

I'm very tempted by some of the CMAC models, I keep eying them up on Ebay, they look like great models, though I'm still trying to decide what to do with my failed 323 from another supplier, it's put me off building anything at all for a while! The 185 is tempting, but the livery options are... complicated!

I built this Translink (Northern Ireland) CAF3000 unit a few years ago using CMAC bodyshells on modified Bachmann Class 170 chassis.

And this Class 325 unit using the CMAC bodies, bogies and chassis.

The CMAC bodies are very well rendered and easy to work with.  Many of the kits come with underframes and bogies.

Highly recommended if you have kit building experience.

Cheers

Just had the Class 197 about 3 weeks ago, Body shells , floor / underframe and 4 bogies. Started on it and fitted a motor bogie.  Shown here passing Deganwy on test.

Very pleased with it so far.  Painting has begun, watch this space.

Tenshodo  31mm wb.

Hi, is the Tenshodo powerful enough for the 2 car Class 197? Did you use just one or one in each car. Does it run okay? Also, what diameter wheels did you use please.

Steve
