(prior to TOPS they were classified MIN 16T( C - designating its size (16 tons in this case) in the group of letters allocated to flat bottom mineral wagons, e.g C=16T, D=21T. E =25T O - for brake type (O meaning no automatic brake or through pipe of any kind) Although they were probably, for a while, the most prolific type of wagon conveying coal to coal merchants at small stations 2 6

KeithMacdonald
Is this the Top Gear Team at work on another "Railway Special" at another top-secret location? No, there are several places in the world where tramway electrification and railway electrification to a different system cross, and I think trolleybus ones too. It can be done by switching, or “dead frogs”, or a combination. 1

I guess very early 1970s for the original livery, with it being phased out when 97201 and 97406 were withdrawn around 1987 maybe? After that the RTC 31s - the fire destroyed 97203 and it’s replacement (97204) wore the newer version of the Technical Centre livery, along with their associated rolling stock I believe?
