RMweb Gold 4630 Posted October 5, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2022 That's a pretty dramatic instance of shrinkflation there, Peter. 1

Mike Harvey
The hole for the shelf peg limits the usable length of the box. Is that a new feature?
MyRule1
Was this example purchased in a discount store? I have a similar box purchased for £1 which is 33ml from the Uhu web site the standard product is 35ml. Looking at Amazon it seems to sold in varying size tubes from 30ml to 60ml. RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted October 5, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2022 I think some previous packaging was a plastic bubble on a card backing - this is probably a plastic reduction move. There is always a suspicion when packaging is changed that it could disguise a reduction in content.
Steamport Southport
Look in your local discount store. I got a big one from Home & Bargain or maybe B&M for about 79P recently. Jason
RMweb Gold teaky Posted October 6, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 6, 2022 Not as cheap as Jason's example but when my last tube of the Bostik equivalent of UHU ran out I bought some Wilko own brand adhesive. I'll be sticking with it from now on! doilum
My good lady has just received a multipack of the medium size tubes from Amazon. She thinks around 12 pounds for ten tubes. Ok all the instructions are in a strange script but it is the real deal.
Popular Post doilum
A thought for new modellers. Last night I went to bed having just found the sad obituaries for Iain Rice who has had a huge influence on my modelling. In the early hours my 97 year old mother finally gave up a long and difficult fight with dementia. Whilst it was my late father who built my first baseboards and train set, it was mother who built my first scale buildings, a brace of cottages. She had copied the plans from an article in a contemporary woman's magazine. The instructions called for some stiff cardboard ( I suspect dad brought home half a sheet of 3mm straw board from the classroom art store. ) Once the shell was complete it was then.given.a thin layer of the new wonder product Pollyfilla.(they may have sponsored the article.) The result was excellent and made good companions for the Airfix cottages that followed. The moral is to stop dreaming about equipment and technology you will never afford and invest in a craft knife and steel ruler. Take inspiration from Pendon and get stuck into the recycling bin. Rest in Peace ma. You too played a bigger part than you ever realised in my modelling journey. 1 1
