luke the train spotter
The planning effect on that wagon is excellent! The sense of scale you get from the staithes is pretty immense too.

RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted February 17 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 17 Ian this is a lovely layout you ate building. That's trestle work is amazing nicely modelled. The stone walls through the layout is spot on. What base colour did you paint the stonework and did you finish it off with a dark wash.👍

I sprayed them with Halford's grey primer (rattle can), then painted with Vallejo Tan Yellow, finished off with a wash of Citadel Nulin Oil. I hope that is useful, It's quick and easy! Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated, 2

Ian Blenk
The soon to be Backworth No. 6 when the transfers arrive. I remember this loco well from my youth and saw it many times at Backworth. It's the bog standard Dapol/Hornby with RT models injectors and extended cab steps. I would have liked to have changed the hand rails, but threading hand rail knobs is a thing of the past for me. No 6 was finished in Navy Blue livery, which can be faintly seen under the grime, although in truth it was always a well turned out machine.
B-R
Evening Ian I have been catching up looking through the forum and came across your model railway build. The tressel work on your layout is very very good.
B-R
You have some very nice weathered locomotives and wagons. Are these all done by yourself.

Thanks for that, I weathered the stock myself mainly with acrylic paints from the Tamiya range.
