The story was that the four A1 class locomotives named after the pre grouping companies that formed the LNER, Great Central, Great Eastern, Great Northern and North Eastern when new were to be turned out in the colours of the companies whose name they bore. Three of course would be turned out in various shades of green but Great Eastern would have been in aquamarine blue with white cab roof.
