Am I right in thinking that's a Plastic Pig in the background? I didn't know they'd returned to their former stomping ground.

I don't think it is. More likely to be a 444, like here

Afraid it was only a Cl.444. Don't think we'll ever have the Cl.442s back on their rightful line again. The actual unit in the picture can be seen in the link below:

Ah right, I'd got it into my head that the 444's were only 4 car units which is why I thought it might have been a 442. I agree, it most likely is a 444 then :)

Edit - Thanks for the confirmation Peter, it was a shame the 442s were sent away, they were a comfortable ride.

Hi all,

Here we see "The Royal Duchy" pulled by BR Britannia Class 4-6-2 no. 70013 Oliver Cromwell and LMS 5MT no. 45305, running from Penzance to Bristol Temple Meads. This shot was taken at Rewe just north of Exeter St Davids. The weather was bad but that didnt put me off.

One of mine taken a few years ago in Canada whilst on a test run from EMD to Stratford Ontario, the only time class 66s actually worked across a short line under their own power....and it was very wet!

And an arty shot in Straford, incidently, Eddison worked at Statford station, before he became famous, as per the plaque on the wall of the station.

I was looking through my holiday photos taken in May 2011 on a railway trip to Switzerland and I was a bit struck by this shot of a Thalys at Brussels Midi station. The almost monochromatic colours, shaft of sunlight and the perspective vanishing to the right are the things that struck me - is it worthy of inclusion here?

Manchester Victoria didn't have the grandeur of its city cousins, London Road and Central, but still had some fine ironwork even when run down and decaying, Still a better station than the one that replaced it. Not fit for the 21st century Manchester I suppose. Taken on the 16 July 1992.
