RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted July 19, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 19, 2015 Didn't know that they used to have steam powered lanterns. I expect he's warming the lamp to make it easier to light - an old railwayman's trick
ParkeNd
I expect he's warming the lamp to make it easier to light - an old railwayman's trick As soon as his hair was straightened he unexpectedly picked up the lamp, walked to the other end of the loco and hung it on the back of the coal bunker, and then got into the cab, and the train left the terminus in reverse. The loco had previously run around its train - so the driver could straighten his hair.

Peter Kazmierczak
Rather a hackneyed shot of train reflected in water, but there you go..... Holes Bay 90 minutes ago, as a Weymouth - Waterloo train passes by.
Peter Kazmierczak
Ardrossan Harbour station from the ferry to Arran Like the "reverse perspective" of the overhead wiring - it gets taller the further away it goes.

lightengine
What's with the scaffolding in the final shot? It's a temporary footbridge under construction for repair/replacement of Teignmouth station footbridge. Planning permission still to be applied for apparently. Guest
Some say there's no point to filming/taking photos in a tunnel, as there's nothing to see.I beg to differ. Regards, Matt
Peter Kazmierczak
It's always worth checking that all the wheels are on the track before starting a running session on the layout.

Porcy Mane
Rutland Ironstone Museum. 31 march 2006. Bit of a story behind this one. Axlebox and I were having a poke about around the Rutland Ironstone museum when treated to a full display by the Typhoon. The display was to mark No. 3(Fighter) Squadrons move to RAF Coningsby becoming the third RAF and first front line RAF Squadron to be equipped with the Eurofighter Typhoon. Peter Kazmierczak
OK, maybe Parkstone Bank looks better with a train. Here the 07.49 Weymouth - Bournemouth ECS climbs the bank. As 10-car Cl.444s are not allowed beyond Poole due to power supply restrictions, this unit works empty all the way from Weymouth where it'll form the front portion of the 08.03 Weymouth - Waterloo at Bournemouth.
