Oh please desist

I'm half p*ssed

And haven't got the time

To sober up and then think up yet another rhyme

Of course the problem that we face, is Debs will start in Greek.

Some wag will retort in another tongue and we'll have a Classics week.

Cake, Penderyn and bed...................not necessarily in that order.

A later effort-

shall I compare thee to my ass?

thou art less smelly and more gigantic.

rough winds do build and forth do pass,

and the odor lasts not but makes thee frantic.

sometimes too loud my ass it speaks,

and often deafens e'en the deaf or dead,

and once in a while the gas too much reeks,

by freak of Nature or by onion rings instead;

but thy eternal stench shall never wane,

nor build up force only to wimp out "pthoo,"

nor shall thy hugeness e'er make me insane,

unless one day King Kong should'st thee outdo.

so long as men can breathe or fail to choke,

so long smell'st this, and this breaks wind with smoke.

My goodness I go away for a few hours and ER's becomes all "high brow" and educated!! I may be a teacher but I cannot confess to being an expert on poems an Haiku. Mind you being an infant teacher does excuse me from this area a little!

I hope all had a good weekend and that the week ahead will be kind to you all. My week looks very busy as our exhibition approaches and my second day of leadership training is not far away either. I still have not done the show guide for the exhibition or the pre-course reading yet. I have a non-contact day booked in for Thursday. The question is - how much can someone fit in in one day???

Evening all,

Just glanced through the last few pages but I'm too weary to join in the fun and games, better look at the classics if Im awake!

Great granddaughter was really well behaved this morning but at three and a half years old and bright with it, hard work best sums it up. 'Can we do some drawing now 'Grumps''? Or 'can we just colour these with your paints now?' Few chores done this afternoon and then cooked chicken breasts in Provençal sauce for dinner tonight, washed down with some nice red before the U.S. GP - great, but I won't spoil it for those who recorded it.

Having had a hospital appointment with the angina specialist on her birthday (31/10), Joanna has another at the old Victorian Essex County Hospital tomorrow morning to check that her little skin cancer scare has completely healed after chemo ointment treatment! We don't appear to have had a lot of luck on the health front lately but with the support of our lovely family, we're coping well. Chauffeur duty for me again so I took my nightcap early.

Hope you all had a good weekend,

Kind regards,

Jock.

Not forgetting : G'night Pete!

It is an ancient kettle class
With drivers three plus three
"By thy foaming mouth and glittering eye
Won't thou commission'st me?"

The factory doors are opened wide
But there's no room within
No chance of it in plastic
Had you considered tin?

The kettle holds the gazer's glance
"There was this layout, see"
- "By thy long grey cloud of smoking beard

Get this froth off of me!"

..... continue ....

interesting evening. I had the silly court .. my colleague had the pain in the £rse court!  One of our players managed to drop a catch onto his foot which then went into another fielders hands.... then a run out  that didn't happen .. a couple of  "where did the ball go??" ..then...I had a pint of Mary Jane and a pint of Tim Taylor Boltmaker! Perhaps I should have had them first?

Night all

Just heard on BBC news channel, Acker Bilk has sadly passed away today, aged 85! Really liked the guy and from some of the stories his brother told me over a pint or five, it's amazing that he reached that age. (His brother and partner ran a pie shop and bakery in Penzance when I lived in Cornwall in the seventies!)

RIP,

Kind regards,

Jock.

If only the BBC News Editors were as thoughtful as Jock! I had planned to watch the USA GP (on my iPhone - see other thread about my laptop) this morning but the result was announced last night on Radio 4 during the 10 o'clock news, ahead of their own very late broadcast!

In answer to your kind enquiry, Jock, Ian is still offline, despite contacting his Internet provider. Let's hope the new week provides a solution to that.

Have a good one, wherever you are!

When Ian does get back online, if he's planning to go all the way back through ERs and the other threads that I know he takes a great interest in, he'll be busy for ages!

True, but 'twill keep him out of mischief!

Morning All,

It is quite a cloudy morning here, with rain forecast for later.

The weekend was not the best weather wise, but despite the thick fog, we did get out for a bike ride on Saturday and a walk in the forest on Sunday.

Have a good day everyone...

Morning All

Just a quick look in for now to catch up, as I've got to go into town later for a bit of business, much to my chagrin as I'd like to be resting up a bit - but as I am going out, I've managed to get to my GP to have the scar checked, as it is still hurting a bit, unfortunately.  Our GP now opens early athalf past seven on a Monday and Tuesday and up til now, it's been a good time to get through on the phone, but I fear that the penny's dropping with all the other patients, as today it took ten minutes to get a ring tone, then once I got that far, another ten minutes for my call to be picked up.

Absolutely chucking it down earlier this morning, and much colder - lovely smell of sleeping damp dog coming from the canine department at the moment.

Back later

Regards to All

Stewart
