RMweb Premium TheQ Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 16, 2019 Mooring Awl, Inner Temple Hare, in body if not in Spirit, An awful nights sleep first awaking just 1 hour after going to sleep, a very poor night waking up every few minutes.. Zeus... Those paws look big, I suspect he will, like Zeus, tower over all.. For the first time, the builders are in here before me, clatering around next door. They were in yesterday, but what they are doing I can't see from here.. Large amounts of pretty coloured lines and marks have appeared on the road on my normal route home, I suspect it will be soon time to divert down some country lanes, long before I reach that point. I could hear the Scottish schools have broken up for their summer holidays,, every other person the the local Tess and co's was speaking in a very northern accent.. 100.01085 MOhms first reading... One thing I thought of in the awaking hours, now I've found my angle grinder I could cut the keel myself and save many pounds.. I'll need to buy some quality blades though.. Time to.... go look at prices while the next reading settles.. 5
RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 16, 2019 Ey up! Less clammy weather overnight resulted in me over sleeping. Today is "get it sorted" day. Should be fun! It does include a hair cut.. As it happens looks like we will have rain all day Saturday. As long as it rains all day fine. I hate umpiring when it changes from rain to dry to rain. On and off like a $#@=s draws! Enjoy your day! Glad that life is improving for you Chris. Any news from Bill? RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 16, 2019 Morning all from a still sunny place. A lot of gardening got done yesterday, hedges were duly trimmed and then Beth and I carried on weeding the border in front of the house. I extracted another 3 Cotoneaster bushes without uprooting any of the roses they were entwined with. I got quite a bit of drawing done for the planning permission application that I need to submit for the en suite. An hour lazing in the pool followed then in the evening we sat out with a glass or two of local distilled liquid produce. We were able to watch a great moonrise and talked about our experiences and thoughts 50 years ago. This morning for some obscure reason we went out for a bike ride at 8am. That was lovely in the morning sun but also pleasantly cool. Very little traffic about. Breakfast has now been taken. Beth is now about to depart for the delights of Intermarche and I need to get a shower and brush my teeth ready for my next appointment with the fangmender. More plan drawing this afternoon. I want to get the package complete to submit on Thursday. It's nice to be able to use my modelling acquired drawing skills to do something for the household as a whole. Whether or not this results in the issue of some brownie points remains to be seen. Regards to all. Jamie 13

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 16, 2019 Good morning everyone Well after yesterday’s sunny start, we’re back to dull again. Breakfast has been consumed and very shortly I’ll set off for the Sainsbury’s Grand Prix. Upon my return I’ll pack away all the ill gotten goods shopping and make myself a muggertea. A short while later Sheila will head off to the hairdressers leaving me to sort out what is required for tomorrow’s day out. This is probably for the best as I’m far better at packing, especially if we want to eat said stuff. Back later.
RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 16, 2019 Thank you all. Yesterday was a bit of a day. We were all set after an 06.45 arrival at the hospital. Preliminaries done l. Consent signed and SWMBO gowned and ready. At which point the anaesthetist wasn’t happy with something and spoke with the surgeon. Minutes later the procedure had been cancelled and will be re-scheduled at an unspecified future time. It seems that another condition, under investigation before treatment begins, presents an unacceptable risk to general anaesthesia. This despite it being known, discussed and on the record at every stage. It seems that what three doctors assured us was not a problem and specifically said was “not a contra-indication” was a big problem for the anaesthetist. She was prepared to reconsider if an ICU bed had been available - it was but in consultation with the surgeon the decision was made to realign the ducks to get them in a different row and to treat SWMBO various conditions accordingly. So we were home by 9.30am kicking our heels and with leave booked which could not be unbooked. SWMBO was more relieved than anything else and was able to resume solid food after a week on fluids. Second breakfast was enjoyed. Amid the frustration there are blessings. I can at least make some noise today on the layout and elsewhere. I might have “accidentally” purchased a new music system to replace the tired and worn-out one which has served me well for over 30 years. And which both travelled out to and returned from Australia in our big moves. And which was one of only two items we had out there which always retained its British plug. Useless fact: the other item to have always retained its British plug but which had only served me for 25 years was the hair clippers. They too were replaced yesterday. Coincidence? It didn’t occur to me at the time - that thought arose a bit later. So it is another warm sunny day Upon the Hill. SWMBO has two weeks leave and I am off today. She has booked a night in Bath while I am due for a few minutes in the shower. Onwards and upwards. We continue to breathe and be thankful for it. 1

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game What's "baseball"? And that is why they call a five-day match a “test” 3

Popular Post bbishop
Morning awl, Many thanks for your support, especially to Tony, Baz and Jamie for their PMs and the latter for his phone call. I think the issue has died a natural death, but just knowing that I had a support network ..... But I'm a volunteer, and can just walk away ..... Anyway, the World Cup is now history. It was quite a day! It was raining that morning, leaving a humid atmosphere, so it was basically a bowler's pitch. Bowl a full length and even the white ball was moving a fraction Not that Archer thought so - a series of head high wides. For whatever reason, it seemed to be a left hander's pitch - Nicholls, Latham, Stokes all scored runs. It wasn't a pitch for fast bowlers, the fast mediums were getting the balls to stop a fraction - certainly Boult should not have bowled the Super over. But I think New Zealand lost because they didn't have a top class spinner, Neesham bowled most of the fifth bowler overs, and leaked runs, but Santner could have gone for more. I didn't see the Super overs, but had my back to the game, treating a very ill patient who insisted in watching the game. A difficult to find pulse, which was changing ball by ball, but finally enough beats to record a figure which was nearly replicated by the Paramedic's lifepack. Result! We were called earlier to the Media Centre, to the broadcasting floor, so was in close proximity to several past, and one present, England players. What did I think of my five World Cup games? Good cricket, mainly sober spectators (especially Pakistan vs Bangladesh, where one of my patients had a scald from a cup of tea), bloody awful racket from the music (especially the Simply Red look but not soundalike), play held up by on ground advertising. Bring on the Tests - oh shucks I have a Twenty 20 on Thursday, but at least that's only a couple of hours of purgatory. Bill 4

The staff had quite a job getting a response from the foetal heartbeat monitor. Also he didn’t “kick” as much as they would have liked. The midwives said he needed waking up. So Aditi had to hold one of those large portable radios against her abdomen. The doctors noticed occasional approx 3 minute gaps. I put this down to the baby only liking rock music not ballads. The usual programme at testing time was the Radio 1 roadshow. Tony Edited July 16, 2019 by Tony_S

There are some nice railway sequences when Bergman and Bryner are on their way to Denmark (post-war I suspect). The Paris Metro also makes an appearance in the background in some of the shots but the motive force might well be bits of string. Reasonably convincing none the less. The film was shot in Copenhagen, Paris and 'London' (actually including Knebworth but possibly elsewhere in London).

That's twice now since the 4th of July - the point at which we can usually count on no precipitation for the balance of the summer. At least temperatures are very pleasant. Of course cloudiness can be anticipated at any time of year at the coast. The Pacific Northwest is where people put more clothes on to go to the beach. The weirdest Oregon coast summer weather I experienced was a dense, hot fog right on the beach. Clear on dry land, clear at sea, but a dense layer of stifling fog over the surf and the beach. I don't know which way you are headed to Eugene, but if you drive south along the coast to Florence and take highway 34 you will pass under this bridge modelled by an RMwebber. let's hope the weather gets it out of its system - we're headed in that general direction in a couple of week's time. We're staying in Newport, but not going to Eugene. Sadly we wont be barhopping a la roundhouse because we will have the kids with us!. Greetings from a beautifully sunny LBG. Work goes slowly - loads to get done but I can't seem to get traction on a lot if it. And I need to leave it in a reasonably advanced stage when I go on holiday....! 2
Popular Post Ian Abel
Chewsday... Bit of a setback on the new house/moving front yesterday early evening as there was a huge storm here and we discovered there is some water coming in from the basement foundation in the bathroom Meeting with the contractor in an hour to see if he has any ideas and a solution (Hopefully that doesn't cost too much $$$). Days after we first purchased the house we noticed some water after a heavy rain, in the same spot, but were assured by the real estate agent that it wasn't something that had occurred before. The renters never mentioned seeing anything either, but there definitely is some sort of problem that needs fixing <sigh>. Has left the Mrs rather frustrated and depressed at the thought of moving into a place that has water issues, so depending on what the contractor says, we may be postponing the move this weekend, not sure yet! Other than that, nothing much to report. We are dog-sitting Whitney again as Jemma is off on a three day trip this week. 20 already getting the newspaper, headed for another steamy 32 high and more storms possible Chin up. 1
RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 16, 2019 Afternoon all, Finally caught up after not being allowed to rate posts yesterday evening for some peculiar reason. Anyway what's happened in the past couple of days? Yesterday was the pre Sister Diabolical taking of various test phials of red liquid; taking the p*ss (but we overlooked that one so couldn't take any in as we hadn't sampled any); checking the weight (4 kg less than last year), checking the BP - usually best of three but in some xa cases with me best of 5 - this time I achieved the equivalent of a score draw on the first go so no more needed. Next stage will be a session with Sister Diabolical in a few weeks time. We She next went shopping in Waitrose while I stocked up on magazines in WHS plus paying in a cheque at the bank then progressed to the local Colombian/Polish operated Italian café where to accompany her pot of tea herself had a Danish pastry and I had a full English to accompany my pot of tea - derfinitely international cuisine. Sunday of course was rather different as the Good Doctor and I headed for Woodcote rally accompanied by excellent weather - a thoroughly overcast sky (excellent for photography as contrast wasn't up mucked too much) and it helped keep the day cool so pleasant to wonder around. Just to be different there were actually three Shays present, albeit in different forms - one being a G scale version venturing round a circuit of track. But also there was this one (built by Aveling Porter of Rochester. Kent, built 1911, Works No.7411), with its valve gear neatly hidden away in the casing below the cylinders but you can see the drive shaft to the rear roller - Far more obvious in its heritage, and US built by the Barber Asphalt Co at their Iroquois Works in Buffalo NY (Works No.8170, built 1922 although the design dates back to at least 1908) was this big beast - With its cylinders, valve gear and crankshaft plainly on view. It has clearly undergone some modernisation as (not visible in this view) the boiler has acquired a proper water gauge although the three original try cocks are still in situ. The vertical boiler can really only be fired when the machine is stationary as the firehole door is at frame level on the opposite side of the boiler As always local contractor Richard Hazell had a good selection of his hobby on display including this magnificent Burrell Showman's Engine (works No.3610, built 1914) which has had considerable care and money spent on it over the past couple of decades since he bought it from another collector. In full road going order it had been driven the 4 miles to the site and I was told will be doing a 15 mile road trip to the Great Dorset Steam Fair from another venue in Dorset later this year. Richard Hazell's Sentinel steam lorries are a regular feature at Woodcote. This is the largest of the three he owns, an S8 8-wheeler dating from 1933 and reputedly capable of road speeds of 60mph- And this is the best view I could get of its engine Enjoy the rest of your day folks.

We had a similar issue with our house in NJ and the solution turned out to be extremely expensive. The house was built in 1952 and the foundation was cracked. I'm pretty sure the previous owners knew there was a problem but by the time we found out it was too late to go after them. I don't know how long you have in MN but I'd suggest you talk to a lawyer immediately. 5 1 6
