RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 10, 2022 Ah, finally got a dialogue box to open. Site really on its knees this morning, can't rate anything, really slow. I'm furious at Kelly's treatment, it really is a disgrace. Any sane ward manager would see that if she had her surgery by now she would have been home, instead the bed is blocked, she's in pain, and her emergency is now elective because she has been there so long. REALLY? An official complaint needs to be made now, to the CEO directly as well as through the procedure, and her MP. Get the big guns out. The apathy towards her surgery is disgusting. This is a human being we're talking about, not a machine. And that is a RANT, big time. 2 25 1

Popular Post chrisf
I have had a very aching back for a couple of days and rather hope that the pain killers will take effect soon. Today I will have to grin and bear it because I have an appointment with Professor Oncologist at noon and I am trying not to worry about what he might tell me. This evening Mark Radcliffe is appearing at The Stables. I am attending out of curiosity, since I have no idea what he does apart from introduce the Radio 2 folk show. His autobiography gives few clues. I must remember to take my copy with me tonight in the hope that he will autograph it for me. So far only one author has declined to sign his book when I have invited him to do so. The guilty man is Hugh Taylor, who has written several tomes on London trolleybuses. There are not many autographed books in my collection but one which I cherish is the autobiography of Robert Dougall, the late TV newsreader. It tends to be easier to get CDs signed. I wanted to heart Natalie’s post but the system wouldn’t let me … Chris
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2022 Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit nippy this morning but warming up now that the sun is up. I agree entirely with Neil's comments above with regard to Kelly's treatment, I would also be contacting a solicitor. 4
Popular Post simontaylor484
Morning all Lovely morning here my first Daffodil in the back has opened looking like it will be closely followed by another. I do need to get round to planting some more bulbs in the back this autumn I have loads of garden work to do this year again but Swmbo has rightly asked me to prioritize interior works we only did the decking last year for safety reasons. It doesn't help I only have weekends and school holidays to do jobs I need the help of my apprentice. I have an appointment this morning with a Clinical Psychologist to discuss trauma therapy to say I am not looking forward to it would be an understatement. 1

RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 10, 2022 ey up! site running like a one legged dog without its owner to help. @Natalie thanks for the update.. that is not a rant.. it is a statement of some very sad facts.. the caring helping side of teh Hospital is sadly missing.. I await a phone call regarding a meeting on Sunday. With attendees fast reducing I need to re-arrange the meeting area pronto.. and order vegetarian and meals suitable to eat by some of my colleagues. PAH! Shark wielding required, a trip to the opticians to collect my sun glasses (is that why the sun has gone in?) then some powerpoint generation.. I fixed a broken sound system for someone at our club.. zero thanks..then he started to slag me off to another member as it had taken two weeks to fix... no free work for him from now then! Tray and enjoy your day..positive thoughts to @Kelly TTFN Baz
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) Earlier this morning the ratings would only let me post a like and nothing else. I'm now seeing double on the left hand side of the page with 2 avatars and names for everyone. I don't think it's a result of last night's wine, I didn't drink enough for that to cause a problem. P.S. Seeing two of me is quite frightening, one is more than enough Edited March 10, 2022 by grandadbob 7 3 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 10, 2022 The site seems to have suddenly started working again on a PC, earlier I could only post a like, and there was no pictures other than adverts.. Mooring awl Inner Temple Hare ... Eventually, 4 hours sleep Loooooong awake 2 hours sleep, forepaws playing up again, with the left knee joining in occasionally. Ben the less enthusiastic Collie had a wander around this morning, didn't charge around didn't go far.. Still just the two daffs a waving in the breeze. Today I have a set of equipments to cal that have a 35 minute automatic run, change a wire over a 10 minute Automatic run, change a test resistor over, and repeat 9 times... So a lot of surfing web will occur during the waits, as I'm not wandering off to do something else while it runs 100Amps.. just viewed the weather for tomorrow.. Near 50MPH winds by 15:00 so I'd better get the last couple of strings sorted and the mast down early. Time to go change a wire.. 18 1

iL Dottore
Good Morning All, I really feel sorry for Kelly and nothing but contempt for those making a complete c**k-up of the management of her care (I really, really doubt that these are clinical decisions). In any other country this would be considered as skating very close to malpractice… Maybe it’s time to start waiving writs around and organising Twitter and Facebook “pile-ons“? Regardless of how you regard the NHS, I think that it’s safe to say that the mantra that worked in 1948 - “free at the point of use” - has now become both a curse and a millstone around the neck of the NHS tying, as it does, the fate and the finances of the system to the whims of whomever is in power. Although the NHS managed to burn through £136.1 billion in 2020/2021, one wonders where that money goes - certainly not into the pockets of nurses and doctors (average nurse salary £33,384 [RCN figures], average NHS project manager salary £59,225 per year, average NHS diversity and inclusion manager £56,665 per year [from the website indeed - anonymous survey figures]). I would argue that a further complication is the lack of accountability, I‘ve yet to hear of any senior person in the NHS being booted out for incompetence…. I think that it’s time for the UK to have a grown-up conversation about the NHS - its funding, its remit, its purpose for the UK, its accountability and its future direction. But given the irrational and partisan passions raised by any critique of the NHS, I don’t see that happening soon… 5 9 2

I feel like I have been the victim of malpractice too. Even if things turn out well for me in the end, the stress and anxiety I and others have been subject to over the last two years is an abomination in what claims to be a civilised society. And now Kelly. Who else's unnecessary health troubles have I missed over the last few months? I'm sure il D could [validly] criticise non-random sampling techniques but if this level of 'care' I've either experienced or seen in the last week or so on ERs is replicated across the whole population, it paints a very ugly and widespread picture of a service which is failing far too many people on every level of healthcare. And yes, I have to agree that until senior management are made accountable for their actions and those of their department or section, it will never improve. 2

RMweb Gold grandadbob Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 10, 2022 Trust me Phil, I know who agreed, just need to know why.. At least Jamie was honest about it and he's OK 'cos I don't think I can manage a 20 odd mile swim in my current state of "fitness." A little bit more time has been spent in the garden and I've swept the "lawn" and done some general tidying up. I might vacuum clean it tomorrow. The aches have subsided a bit but I'll probably feel it later. Time for lunch shortly and then I will await Charlie from Parcel Force who is delivering my wine between 14.25 and 15.25. Also got an Amazon delivery due any time up until 22.00hrs. 14

The Lurker
Greetings all from LBG where the sun has made it a pleasant lunchtime. I could get on but only rate "like" earlier and could not post, and then 20 minutes ago I could not get in at all. But...here I am, like it or not! I haven't heard anything from Mark Radcliffe for a long time but I used to like his radio shows with the Boy Lard (Mark Riley). They collaborated as the Shirehorses and produced an album called the "The Worst Album in the World...Ever", a mickey take of the "Best" albums that were around at the time and was full of parodies of popular songs with made up band names like Dick Cave and the Bad Cheese, Gazebo and Doofergrass. It was a long way from folk. I hope that the hospital sees sense with Kelly and then she is operated on pronto. Have a good day all 15
Popular Post simontaylor484
Back from my appointment, its the start of a long road to getting the treatment IF I get it I have 2 further appointments booked in. Then I will see if they add me to the waiting list but they have said they will backdate my waiting from today. Todays appointment has made me feel unwell as well as being in a lot of pain from my right knee in particular The bl00dy virus hasnt helped waiting lists and I think it's started to become an excuse I dont think if even every penny of Government finance was spent on the NHS it wouldn't be enough we have an ageing population and with that there are more problems. Dont get me wrong I think the NHS is brilliant the problem is as others have said unaccountable management and hopeless situation getting to see GPS adding extra pressure on A&E and 111 services. How many of these extreme waits for ambulances are caused by them having to wait to hand over patients in stuffed out casualty departments. As many will know I have experienced paid for private treatment abroad when Mrs broke her leg it wasnt nice trying to book her in and getting a tap on the shoulder from the ambulance driver wanting payment for him and the Dr that came to the hotel or having to footslog in high temperature with a young Autistic child in tow to find a pharmacy and pay out over 100€for each item on the prescription 1

Probably for the best though - double Bears mean the SCR would disappear twice as quick, which is Not A Good Thing. Bear has been messing with the project I'm working on during College Evenings (which is a Dividing Head for the Taig Lathe); some "figuring out how to do the next bit" has also been carried out on the muddling project (an etched brass wagon). A phone call to a certain Puppers also took place - all very p.c., naturally....... 17
RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted March 10, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 10, 2022 6 hours ago, New Haven Neil said: Ah, finally got a dialogue box to open. Site really on its knees this morning, can't rate anything, really slow. Same here. Access over the past several days has been very limited and reliant upon using the desktop. The iPhone simply doesn't allow me in offering (usually) just a white screen. The font today has also embiggened itself to the max meaning I have to scroll across to read each line. Using the "zoom out" setting has no effect whatsoever. In other news my apologies to anyone delayed by events at and around the House of Fun this morning. Early morning trains were significantly delayed by an "Operational Incident" which might have been one of many possibilities including but not limited to a SPAD, overshoot, undershoot or wheel-slide event. Service hadn't recovered when a train sat firmly down in the platform and made it very clear that it didn't want to go to Portsmouth today, thank you. That requires two lots of trains to be squeezed through one platform (which never works well) and two lots of passengers accommodated on one already-busy platform. The recalcitrant saw sense and moved on after around 30 minutes just as things had the potential to blow out into day-long disruption. For a while things chugged along nicely until the 09.20 from What-a-poo to Exit-turd stopped with the rear five cars off the platform. Followed immediately by a radio call for the police to deal with "A major emergency". I thought we had one under. In fact we had a person who for reasons of his own had hopped down onto the track ahead of the approaching train as a means of objecting to his being asked to stay behind the yellow line. Extremely agitated, he was tackled by two burly yard shunters who restrained him with difficulty. The station paramedics arrived, assessed and I believe might have administered something to calm him sufficiently that he could be removed by the police. I don't know the outcome because it hadn't come out when I left. There are several possibilities; he could be charged with trespass on the railway, endangering railway safety, recklessly endangering safety or possibly even be sectioned. In addition at least two members of station staff were extremely distressed and unable to continue with the day's duties which in turn has implications for safety if platforms are un- or under-staffed. I may know more by tomorrow. As I have done before I have also offered my time, shoulders, ears and support to colleagues should they wish to talk at any time. Lunch was followed by a well-earned nap. It is now time to resume activities outside where small white-flowering plants require to be removed from the soil ..... 1
