pitbull1845
I can only add to the thanks. Had a good day today catching up with the warren lane crew, Arnie and Temeraire. I especially enjoyed operating the crane. At least it entertained the punters!
RMweb Premium Temeraire Posted March 8, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 8, 2014 Ian for letting us crash your house No problem mate I was honoured to host Warren Lane's finest. Also had an enjoyable day 'behind the scenes' and look forward to more of the same tomorrow, I might give the crane a swerve though!

WOMBATTY
Warren Lane Update Firstly thank you for everybody who helped Operate the layout at Basingstoke...We really appreciate it. The Layout performed well, even the cranes ran trouble free all day. Thanks for all the comments and feedback we always like to engage with the audience especially Maggie Just keep away from these three Whilst we were all together at the weekend, it gave us a chance to discuss the future of the layout. First some bad news the original Warren Lane will be sold at the end of this year. But it's staying in the 'family' as Phil is having the scenic boards and the short fiddle yard whilst Matt has the large fiddle yard and ends. But the good news ...After looooong discussions with the Boss (Maggie) We will keep the cranes (I must be insane) and the Warren Lane name and some time in 2015 a new Warren Lane will emerge, So the plan is to honour all our 2014 commitments Ely, Perth, Chelmsford, Eurospoor(Netherlands) Farnham and finally Hull with the original. And then the new EM Gauge version of Warren Lane will make its debut in 2015. We have been invited to Warley so that will focus our minds. So thats the plan. We very much hope to keep all the good things that have made Warren Lane such an entertaining layout on the exhibition circuit and add some new ideas. Keep an eye out for updates. Classsix T
I don't think there's any "bad" news there Alan. Not as if the band is breaking up, or even the stage! Whatever you do, best of luck, and I thank you all for one of the best layouts, and certainly the friendliest operating teams on the exhibition circuit. I've not looked, are the dates for Chelmsford and Ely on the WL website? I'm not promising I'll turn up, just threatening... C6T.

Satan's Goldfish
It's been fun, the amount of new skills I've learnt from the team over the last couple of years has been staggering compared to my previous 'modelling' abilities, although I'm still scared of air brushes and weathering! I really can't thank Alan enough for some of the items I now have in my possession because of this layout (and a certain 40ft container given away to a lucky competition winner) and the continued support and different areas of expertise of the whole crew. I was fortunate enough to briefly get to Basingstoke on the Saturday to see the show and it's definately one I'll be aiming to attend next year. Very heavy recent work load combined with ill health was a major hampering factor to being able to stay longer and help, probably why the cranes managed to behave so well It will be good to see what layouts 2015 produces from Alan and Phil, and I probably should put some serious thought into how to fill the 18ft gap inbetween the curved boards....
