Edwin_m
And if you can manage to look that far the loco has modern ohle warning 'flashes' and a little red plaque of some sort of the left hand mainframe extension plus a nameplate it never carried in BR service and airbrake connections. The skirts might well look late 1960s but the loco very definitely does not Didn't notice those. Must have been distracted, can't think why. I still think Carlisle though - has the OHL been bleached out in the photo? Or perhaps it is Shrewsbury.
RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted February 18, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 18, 2011 Who's the pregnant guy? Best, Pete. PS I'll apologize already if the nice chap is a member of RMWeb.............. What guy? Where? Regards Richard
Arthur
I still think Carlisle though - has the OHL been bleached out in the photo? Or perhaps it is Shrewsbury. Dunno why, Bristol seems to be on my mind...,. Though maybe the shedplate is the real clue!
backwaterscotland
Looks like Perth to me - which would make sense of the outfits as well Andy B)
Jamie
They all look like that? - I've clearly been underestimating the girls of Perth (Canopy rules out Carlisle, as does the masonry of the wall)

St. Simon
Hi, I think for a train nut of 16 years of age, that photo is fantastic, but I'm sure which is better, the girls or the Black 5! Simon P.S. It's the girls!

Guest Max Stafford
Made my day that picture! B) If it really had been the '60s though, the loco would have had a three o'clock to iron by the time ladies were sartorially equipped thus! Dave. cromptonnut
I like the guy talking to the driver completely oblivious to what's going on at the front of the loco.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted February 20, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 20, 2011 I like the guy talking to the driver completely oblivious to what's going on at the front of the loco. He probably can't see anything through the clouds of steam, the driver seems to be trying to do so though.
Thomas
Most mates I worked with would not be leaning out of the cab, they would be up front. ( checking the lamps )

Leicester Thumper
I think those are the nicest buffers i have ver seen on a steam engine for that matter! I think the Driver was just observing as he was building up a good head of steam for the journey

alastairq
very nice how the modeller has managed to jam these two onto the lamp brackets? Is the loco actually HO scale, as the two female figures are rather tall.....
