Interesting shot of slope sided wagons from Robert Carroll's collection.

Michael a nice photographs of the Chas Roberts built tipplers for British Steel. http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/bscotippler/h359531a7#h359531a7

Very recently it has been pointed out that they were carrying coal to Corby and not iron ore.

Bachmann have modelled these.

They were still running via Toton Yard when I visited there during the Easter holidays in 1972- quite took me by surprise, as I'd never seen a private-owner mineral before.

A nice shot but showing the Stewarts and Lloyds livery rather than the British Steel that Bachmann produce.

A few of my mineral wagons, I apologise that there are some intruders in these pics but they show the same end result. The 16 and 21 tonners have had scenic rust applied left to dry then a wash of a more realistic colour brush on, using thinners the rust was then removed as required. Two of the hoppers have had carrs weathering poweders (a pre mixed dusting of rust and coal colouring) applied to wet matt varnish, you need to be quick at dusting the powder, then with a cotton bud the almost paste is brushed downwardswhich gives the texture, more colours are then added until desired effect is acheived.

why is this wagon not the same height?

Cos it's not as tall

It's not a pukka 16 tonner Mike - I'd say it's probably one of the Cambrian 13 tonners, like these, which came before them. It's essentially a shorter version of the more familiar 21T PO/Felix Pole family.
