F-UnitMad
Jack you are very naughty posting all these links to such inspirational stuff... how's a chap supposed to focus on one idea... Things I particularly like are the hidden point switches on the HO layout, which must copy the real thing quite well, and the diamond crossing to the kick-back spur on the N scale layout - inspired !! - and so different to the 'obvious' route of taking the kick-back off the front spur - the crossing is so much more visually interesting..!! Supaned
just to add a further link , in the write up for X-street , there is a link to an O scale switching layout plan called "69th Street" : http://www.modelrailway-online.com/69th-street/ this appears to be a french language website , but , as always , google translate is your friend. The only difference is they've added an extra siding off the sector plate.

(Except maybe Shortliner... ) I wasn't suggesting you had copied my idea or anything like that. After all, there is a finite number of ways you can put pieces of track and turnouts together. I was also very impressed with your layouts. Oh - and welcome to the forum.
Ian Holmes
My BN layout was several years ago so I don't think anybody remembers it! (Except maybe Shortliner... ) I do, in fact I still have the copy of the magazine somewhere in my basement and indeed I too "ripped off" the track plan for one of my own layouts that did the rounds of local shows in Minnesota. trisonic
I have not "ripped off" your trackplan, Northpoint. However, it must be so good that I am now tempted to. Best, Pete.

The only difference is they've added an extra siding off the sector plate. layout9.jpg layout2.jpg layout4.jpg layout7.jpg I know.... it was as I recall the May 1999 issue. You inspired me with that to build my first exhibition layout "Metusa Junction" which i build from that point to early October 1999 where she went to her first exhibition. From 1 module I expanded it to 2 modules and it lasted for almost 7 years. She is no more but I was very succesful with it. For that I thank you!!! Grtz, Ronald.
