RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted January 6, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 6, 2012 Bob Holness, famous for being the host of Blockbusters with the oft asked for "I'll have a P please Bob" has passed on today. Robert
Sad News. Blockbusters was a great show and must have been great fun to work on. I always remember the girl who fluttered her eyelashes and said "I want 'U', Bob". Poor Bob looked a little flustered!
RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted January 6, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 6, 2012 And of course the famous one where the answer on the card was organism but the embarrassed student answered with something hormonal teens are obsessed with. Happy Days. I love the way he visibly loved working with teens. I was at work by then but always watched the show if I could (no video recorders back then). EddieB
Sad to hear, he always seemed a decent bloke - and one-time James Bond, no less. I used to be in a pub quiz team, one of our other members having appeared on Blockbusters in his youth. He was part of the two-person team - three gold runs, none successful (he knew all his pal's answers, of course).
