EBay madness

With all of the Ebay examples portrayed in this thread, at the closure of an auction there are at least two people in the world that are happy - the seller and the buyer. Thereafter, when reality sets in, the total may be reduced by one... dilbert

And this really does say it all.....Excellent.

I though "I'll put a bid on for that  " But someone else must want it more - They bid twice in eleven seconds, and got it for the grand sum of £1.04!!

Probably aimed at today's yoof who are too busy to read things like Dickens. You can thumb through this faster than tweeting

Anyone inquired as to what the book is APART from collectable?? :scratchhead:

I have now asked the silliest of questions.

And the response:

This, apparently, is the rare CR/GSWR 0-6-0 version of the S&DJR 2-8-0.

Seriously, if anyone knows where this is please shout and I'll let the seller know (it's not Dumfries). He's normally very good, I suspect he's either got item and heading mixed up, or the photographer has written some duff gen on the negative.

Edit - now corrected.

It's Bath MPD, next to the coal stage. In The Somerset & Dorset in Colour there's a Norman Lockett shot of 31639 & 34015 in the same spot, on 2/1/66, complete with the clerestory van on left. I thought I recognized it, I've just been reading the book.

Weathered? Looks more like it hit a paint lorry on a level crossing.

Same seller also has this, which has actually attracted a bid!

Having looked at most of his current stock i get the impression that he does House clearances, junk sales, car boots and "job-lots" at auctions.
