Just for the record, I can't see the photos either. Although I can see photos in other topics. :scratchhead:

They are unusually large for this site - apparently upto 1 MB or more, perhaps you have something preventing larger downloads?

Just ordered from Hattons

Ex-LMS Composite Coach in BR Departmental Olive Green 'Signals and 50ft Ex-LMS PIII BG Van in BR Departmental Black 'Electrification'

Will be good for Croxley WRD when I am running in the 1960's era when the extension and additional stock is finished.

So maybe I am missing something obvious... but would any of these new items have lasted into the early 80's..or would they all have been gone by then?

Paul's photos are dated 1979 and 1980. It isn't clear whether they are in use at that time though.

Guest dubdee1000

If they did most likely in a withdrawn status in a remote location

I agree. It was the drab olive green OHL stock that was around in the later 70's/80's. The Springs Branch OHL train, based on Mk1 stock, turned blue in later 80's early 90's. The funny thing is though, i thought most of the electrification trains had flat roofs for the crews to work off.

There used to be a couple of black electrification coaches parked up just south of Stafford back in the late 80s. I don't think they were still in use though.

I saw some somewhere else on the LM in the late 80s too, but can't remember where they were - Stonebridge Park possibly?

There was a train at Preston in the sidings between the station and the Longridge branch in the 70/80s. My recolection was that it was a dirty olive green colour rather than black. The coaches all had flat roofs and were marked Electrification.

Olive green was introduced in 1967 – correct me if I am wrong. So for the steam era 50s/60s modeller there are just two items left, pity.

How often do we have to go over this, it was 1963 when olive green replaced Gulf red.

Very nice they look - for me Bachmann are taking advantage of early production slots that have become vacant due to [...add your own theory...], hence the models are exclusively using existing tooling.

I am however intrigued by the HST Enparts BG - HSTs came on stream in 1976 well into the BR Blue era and I well recall seeing ex-GW internal framed Syphon vans, GUVs and BGs in BR Blue marked up for the Enparts traffic. But never in olive green...

Although many of the Enparts fleet ran without repainting from their traffic liveries some of the Enparts fleet were refurbished later and appeared in olive green such as http://PaulBartlett....nparts/efe5359d http://PaulBartlett....parts/e16bb3766 http://PaulBartlett....nparts/e73b778e http://PaulBartlett....parts/e1b84a464

PS can someone tell us the running numbers of the ex passenger stock as the illustrations don't show this.

Thanks for the links Paul. I've used your excellent site a lot and have seen these. My point was that I had not seen HST Enparts labelled NPCCS in olive green (only in BR Blue) and I couldn't see any on your site. No doubt they did exist, though, as Bachmann does not normally produce a livery it doesn't have photographic evidence of.

That is why I would like to know the running numbers that Bachmann have reproduced. There is the departmental site to check out as well as my own photos - I haven't scanned some of my coaching stock DBs.. or DMs

Hi Paul

I contacted Bachmann as the photo on their site did not allow for clear reading of the lettering on the coach, and this is the response I got... hope this helps!

Thank you for your enquiry. The van is as used in ENPARTS traffic and shows this labelling:

Wording on BG from Left to Right is as follows:

HST Enparts

To work between Derby Loco. B.R.E.L

& W.R. Bristol HST Depot

Running No is QRX ADB 975613

Other wording on vehicle

Interior Handbrake (on Guards door)

Load 10 tons evenly distributed (under running No)

All lettering is white in colour.

Regards
