Guildex Telford

Recommended Posts

I am sure a lot of the regulars on these pages will be going to the GOG's big show, Guildex, at the International Centre in Telford this weekend. (8/9th)

I'll be very pleased to see lots of you there; especially if you come bearing items for publication in the Gazette.

Even if you just want to chat look me up on the Guild Publications stand G9.

There is more info on the Guild website www.gaugeOguild.com and the Show Guide is here http://www.gauge0guild.com/Guildex_Guide_2012.pdf

Best,

John

`Really looking forward to it.....although Ian and I will be busy exhibiting ("Rhydwyn Fawr" - L14) we hope to find time to enjoy some spectating, socialising and shopping too! :good:

Wishing success and enjoyment to all whom are attending Guildex.

Bring the lorry Martyn, if we all get lost we can camp out in it.

That's a great idea Phil, and we can fill the trailer up with all our purchases ( I wish ) .

You do realise that once Dave and your good self have been to Telford you are on the slippery slope to becoming 7mm modellers, no more 2mm for Dave :O .

I'll be there on the Sat. Train gets in about 10 o'clock, then round to 'Spoons' for breakfast and a pint. Then let the conversion work on Grasshopper begin.

If it all goes to plan I'll be in the real ale bar between 12 & 1 o'clock. I'll be wearing a nice quiet yellow shirt and blue jeans, so come and say hello.

OzzyO.

PS. times and such are in the exhibition diary.

I shall be there all day on the Saturday, helping out on the HMRS stand (it says Stand No. 88 in the Guildex guide but I believe that we have been moved to allow us more space); if I'm not actually on the stand, I shall not be far away.

On the admission fee: if you join the Guild at the show (you may join at the entrance), you pay the members' rate. Recommended.

Looking at joining the gauge0guild at the show, does anyone know if they are doing any sort of deals with admissions fees for non members joining there??

The same question was asked on the Guild Forum resulting in the answer below - by joining at the show, you get in at the members rate of £5 instead of £12

Artytype will have a desk in the foyer and will be very pleased to collect his subscription, which will get him into the show at the members rate.

He should also get a 'Welcome' pack which will tell him about the Guild and include some literature on 7mm modelling.

Hello John,

This will be the first time in years that I will not be able to make Telford. My wife and I will be en route to the Isles of Scilly for our annual visit. Tis lovely but alas no railways! When Ramchester is a bit further along the line I will put fingers to keyboard and send something in for the Gazette. In the meantime would you be interested in a short article on how we modified Peco points to take away some of the "toylike" features? If so send me an e-mail and I'll do my best to make the next deadline.

Hi John

I will drop by and say hello either Sat or Sun. You have been doing a pretty good job on the Mag. We have set off already in the Motorhome have stopped at Devizes for two nights by the canal. Weather is grand it is on to Bridgnorth friday and I have my Advance ticket. Time at the show will be a little restricted. Marion and the dogs get a bit restless parked in the motorhome but it beats driving a long way on the day ( when you still cant spend all day there). I will just pop in on Sunday before going on to Colmere oh it's a hard life!

I'll be there on Saturday, but with little money to spend :-( As it looks like my soldering station has died, and I'll need to get a new one soonish.

Thats the second year running something like that has happened just before the show.

Grr...
