ISTR the barrier vans were actually used as reach wagons used on the Wembley flow to allow the electric locomotive to position the tanks at BOC Wembley. Now, given that the 3 flows were Widnes to Wolverhampton, Broughton Lane and Wembley, what was the Wembley consist doing at York, it's a heck of a diversion. Were there other flows? Mike.
