blueeighties
Cue the Jaws theme tune, dee dum, dum dum, dum dim dum dee daaa! I have been asked to transform this into a Colas liveried version god help me.... 016 by rothburyuk, on Flickr These things are like buses...you wait for one and then... 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Every now and then I get a particularly tricky project to do, and this is one of them. This Hornby Pacer has had it's chassis swapped, and I need to match the solebar to the body colour. Not that easy when its self coloured 'lemon' plastic. 010 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Results so far have not been to clever. 011 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Yet more finishing touches for the Pullman, these are the gangway doors. I boxed them up when I initially stripped the unit down, and forgot about them until I started unpacking everything to put it all back together again. Before... 013 by rothburyuk, on Flickr After. 014 by rothburyuk, on Flickr All that's left to do now, is re fit (approximately a thousand of them), the handrails, and the jumper cables on the coach ends. 001 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 003 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 022 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 026 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 024 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

RBE
Cracking job that mate, I prefered them in the reverse blue grey. If it were mine I wouldnt be leaving the tension lock on the front though.
blueeighties
You've made an excellent job of that Pullman mate. Cheers Tase, I'm really happy with it. It certainly hasn't been a walk in the park mind! Cracking job that mate, I prefered them in the reverse blue grey. If it were mine I wouldnt be leaving the tension lock on the front though. Likewise, if it was mine I wouldn't have it fitted either
RBE
Yeah I realise you are constrained by what the customer wants. Would look cracking with full piping and the like!
blueeighties
Absolutely. I still have the unit I bought at the bargain Hattons price, but I just can't justify spending the time on it as the workshop is so busy with other projects. Maybes one day...

blueeighties
Fairy Powerspray tends to be my painstripper of choice these days, and Wilkos just happened to have it on offer so.... The bench is looking decidedly unkempt these days. When putting the detailing back onto the Pullman, I wasn't sure how I was going to reattach all of the plastic jumper cables, as they were very brittle and delicate. I decided to have a go at drilling some holes out of the sockets and plugs, and using some nice thin dcc wire. Works a treat. I will be exploring this avenue further. 60032, William Booth that I have just finished. Fitted laserglaze too, really looks good. Another departmental 40.
d winpenny
Looking good when you use the fairy as paint remover is it okay for removing surface details such as logos body side numbers etc or does it strip all the paint straight off when applied? blueeighties
Hi.it does affect the paintwork as well as the transfers, so not ideal to use for renumbering. Edited March 29, 2014 by blueeighties
Waverley West
Nice Lee. I especially like the Coal Sector 60. It's one (of many) on my to do list. I think I have just about every one of those books behind the Powerspray bottles too! Cheers Dave Edited March 28, 2014 by Waverley West

will5210
Good morning. Is anyone using Flickr? They have 'improved' things except I now cannot get the appropriate code to post my pictures on here Hi, yes it sucks doesn't it? The only way I seem to be able to post pics is with the 'pin' button. It also won't remember your preferred size of photo to share like old flickr would, and the possible sizes available aren't in order for some reason. Cheers

Wayne 37901
Hi Lee, Only just found this and there's some excellent projects here. Quick question though, with all those locos and other projects how do you keep your workbench so clean? Mine is covered in glue, paint, cuts and knife scratches etc. I'm looking to replace it soon. Cheers
