blueeighties
Cheers Andy. I use a supplier called 'Dorspring Models' decent quality and very reasonable prices. A search on Ebay brings up a lot of stuff direct from China, not the best quality, but perfect for getting some life into coaching stock!
blueeighties
A bit of housekeeping today. The filter in the paint extractor has taken some hammering... 014 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Deffo time for a replacement! 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A bit more work on the 25. Bufferbeams detailed, I have replaced the Bachmann mu jumper cable with something a bit finer than the supplied tree trunk. 002 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Bit of fading of the cab fronts. 005 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Roof, chassis, and bodysides weathered. 019 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 022 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 026 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A 108 has had sound fitted, and weathering. 030 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 031 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Dunrobin Castle awaiting her nameplates. 034 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Same with Loch Eil. 033 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Red stripe 66. 037 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 040 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

RBE
Be interesting to see it on its wheels. 66s always look a bit half a body to me. Can you imagine the greif trying to do an intercity or NSE one. You wouldnt have any body to paint the stripy bits on!

blueeighties
Why I say yes to some of these projects I do not know. Said yes to fitting lights to a Hornby Sentinel shunter. Gulp. The led's are so small, I am having to use superfine enamelled wire. 002 by rothburyuk, on Flickr These are the lamp housings, they have been drilled out with a .3mm drill, the led's are glued behind. 007 by rothburyuk, on Flickr As well as the markers, we also have twin headlights at either bonnet end. 008 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Starting to get somewhere. 012 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Passengers and lighting for a rake of mk2d's. 013 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 014 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Hornby current spec class 56, repainted into one of the original Western region large logo locos. 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr And another Hornby Western region one...getting done as 56031 'Merehead'. And before anyone panics, yes I know it hasn't got oval buffers, I just grabbed the chassis for the photograph! This was a balls up given to me by a customer....I have resprayed the bodysides blue, as it was previously a very poor job. 019 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The big 70 starts getting the decals on...these were worse to do than the actual painting. 017 by rothburyuk, on Flickr And finally, a Peak that I am flush nosing and doing as a sealed beamer. 020 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

Apologies if its somewhere in the topic could not see a reference As a 'first' time attempt would a pair of old ,cheap class 08's be a good starting point, i already have these Thanks Gary

blueeighties
You're welcome. Don't forget something as simple as plasticard provides a good surface to practise on too.

26power
Hello. What are you using as the filter? Thanks, Yup, I paid about 65 quid for a set of 3....and that was with a little bit of discount. I baulked at the cost, but after working for 5 minutes with the newly fitted one and getting quite a shock at how much the old one was clogged up and not extracting properly, what price can you put on your health? blueeighties
Hi all. I am going to start adding a lot of these updates to my website....easier to manage than posting to lots of individual sites. blueeighties
A bit of a beast moving onto the workbench. An O gauge 37. 002 by rothburyuk, on Flickr It has a smoke generator which needs removing, and the loco has only had taillamps installed. So, we need markers, headlamps, cab lights, and possibly engine room lights too. It id fitted with a loksound V3.5, but surprisingly just normal 00 size speakers. Room for plenty more grunt to be installed methinks. 004 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The wiring is a bit of a mess, so I'll be ripping it all out and starting again. 006 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The roof has actually been damaged by the smoke unit, so a repair is needed. 009 by rothburyuk, on Flickr
