blueeighties
Hi Lee, Only just found this and there's some excellent projects here. Quick question though, with all those locos and other projects how do you keep your workbench so clean? Mine is covered in glue, paint, cuts and knife scratches etc. I'm looking to replace it soon. Cheers I am a very tidy person by nature, a bit of care and a tidy up session every couple if days keeps things ship shape!
blueeighties
Right then. After much fiddling about and head scratching with Flickr's new system, let's see if this works. Weathered Peak. Some weathered n gauge RTC stock Repainted Bachmann BDA Renumbered, renamed and weathered re tooled Heljan 33. I think these are a huge improvement over the older model. And the bench is groaning a bit under the weight of this absolute beast.
Wayne 37901
I am a very tidy person by nature, a bit of care and a tidy up session every couple if days keeps things ship shape! Thanks Lee, I'm pretty tidy by nature but the state of my workbench wasn't helped when my brother decided to try and hijack it to work on his Warhammer stuff a few years ago! A new workbench is needed for sure, although I've told the other half we can also use it for paperwork and stuff. My main motive is obviously modelling as it'll save me going to my parents where my current works resides. Cheers
blueeighties
Cool.Another very useful item I have found is a clear protective bench mat from Ikea, 4.50. Helps to keep the benches clean!

blueeighties
Saying as things are getting ever busier, and I can be a bit of a scatterbrain when doing more than one thing, it's timefor a workshop shedboard Loads of class 37 nose ends to mod, this one is having its box headlight removed, and a Scottish 'car headlamp' one to be added. Also started on a batch of disc 40's. This pair has had the top bonnet handrails removed, the side lamp brackets removed, and new long handrails added. RBE
The boards a good idea. Im surprised you havent had one before now with the amount you have on. I used to have exactly the same thing in my workroom a couple of years back and I only ever hadno more than about 10 things on the go at any one time! blueeighties
4 nice fresh class 40 bodies ready for blue paint Paint going on. Re worked nose ends attached D200 in the making This was the first ever class 56 to go into large logo, Hornby please note this is the correct body style/number.... Some interesting liveries going onto these. The headlights have now been removed and filled, and I have cut a small thin strip of plasticard to replace the filed away nose door seam. Priming next to see if they need any more smoothing/filling.

Jaz
Kal and I upgraded our Flickr account last year so we could put more pictures up. But once we used them in RMWeb they started disappearing again without rhyme nor reason. You would look back and another one had hit the dust. Eventually I was so fed up we changed and this year we did not renew

Eventually I was so fed up we changed and this year we did not renew I subscribed to the Pro account too....couldn't see the point this Year as you now get 1tb of storage as standard! Needless to say, I didn't pay for a new subscription.....
blueeighties
We start off with a North East theme. This is one of mine, 47402 'Gateshead'.A personal favourite. Have added full bufferbeam detailing, including some nice new Oleo's.Awaiting Shawplans delivery of laserglaze to finish her off  Next another beast, I did one of these the other month, but this one is mine. Just painted and attached the snowploughs today, they need toning down a tad. Awaiting a Scottish 'headlamp' next, and a fitter to replace that missing horn... Another batch of 40's starting to arrive for repaint into wonderful blue....this time centre headcode versions. Network Rail 66 Corus 60 Some n gauge HEA's...resprayed into Railfreight from Mainline. A pepper with a face! The Mrs cut into it and found this... And finally, I hope John likes this. An upgrade from the midi system :-well done And last but not least, a Freightliner 60!
blueeighties
I revisited my Hornby 56 today, after previously taking the pcb board out whilst sorting the characteristic jerky running, the lights no longer work thanks to Hornbys weird way of wiring them. So, new led's including cab lights. 024 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 025 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 027 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Nice run down Railfreight 47. 014 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 018 by rothburyuk, on Flickr More Scottish headlamps getting fitted. 005 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 33008 Eastleigh. 006 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

Wayne 37901
Nice job on 47371 there Lee. Care to share how your techniques for getting the blue paint to show through? I've tried in the past and my efforts didn't come out how I wanted. Cheers
blueeighties
Hiya Wayne. A little bit of white misting with the airbrush to fade the paintwork, and then the blue is lightly drybrushed on.
