robmcg
Dear All, Can anyone advise where online information and illustations might be found about a pre-war or post-war finescale 0 gauge layout I faintly remember from1960s magazines. It had beautiful finescale 0-gauge models of pre-grouping railways, scale-looking scenery and structures, and looked fantatic even in b+w photos. All I recall is the name Colonel Norris, and I'm not even sure that is correct, but I hope someone here might be able to help. Thanks in advance, Rob edit; Stanley Norris? HSB
BRM published a supplement on W S Norris's layout a couple of years ago.

RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted February 2, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 2, 2013 Often odd photographs appear in magazines, presumably as fillers since often they don't relate to the articles on the same page. RMweb Gold Donw Posted February 3, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2013 I believe it was dismantled, stock went to various people and some parts of the layout did also. Don
multiprinter
IIRC Some of the Norris layout went to Walter Mayhew and an article(s) by him in Modeller described its instalation at his home.
HSB
One station (Stroudley) was LBSC but the other, larger, station (Francisthwaite) was joint LNWR and MR.
pete_mcfarlane
I believe it was dismantled, stock went to various people and some parts of the layout did also. Don The NRM had one of the locos on display recently - the SER F class. I was very impressed by how good it was.
wagonman
I seem to remember that some of the locos/stock were built by Miller & Swann. Also Norris was, I believe, behind the 'Rocket Precision' track parts.
