cary hill
Having slept on it and now being in Good Santa mode, I have thought of a couple of "useful" Christmas gifts which might be suitable for the Finchings: Does anybody know if the Finchings are ready for "the thrill of fine luggage", as the concept is entirely alien to me ? The luggage is intended to replace the suitcases that the Finchings foolishly pawned in Peterborough to finance their return tickets to the South Hams earlier this year. Buying these "thrilling" luggage items may require a contribution from all thread followers, as I believe they may be expensive American imports. I'm going to have the suitcases inscribed in large characters with " Not permitted for carriage by the L.N.E.R." as a proactive measure to prevent future "eastern excursions". A cheaper "useful" gift: I'll need to check if either or both of the Finching have dentures, but I am pleased to see that the idea of toothpaste as a Christmas gift is not considered "gimcrack". After an early evening gin drinking session on Brent platform the Finchings were heard singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth a tube of ......."

Miss Prism
Looks nice Rob I've an unpainted one sitting in the cupboard I must check the brown livery to see if it will cover me for 1939. Should be fine for 1939: brown starting appearing on some full brakes from c 1934.

cary hill
I can't be certain but I think Santa thinks I been a 'bad' boy this year. How else do you explain this waiting to pull us this morning on the SVR. Santa's actually being helpful by giving you a festive glimpse (or warning?) of SR things to come for Brent. He's spared you the full-on horror of unrestricted SpamCans racing through Brent in 2014 should 2ManySpams decide to take up his Southern running rights. RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted December 24, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2013 'A FAIRYTALE OF THE SOUTH HAMS' It was Christmas Eve babe,in the drunk tank. An old man said to me 'You won't see another one' And then they sang a song, the rare old Dartmoor dew. I turned my face away and dreamed about you..... A parcel has arrived probably containing my Christmas present from Denmark of all places. Thanks Mikkel. 7804 'Baydon Manor' pulls away from the up platform on one of the last services on this Christmas Eve on a bitterly cold day in South Hams. Merry Christmas.

RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted December 26, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 26, 2013 Talking of the lovely Finching sisters, they have been contacted to make an appearance at this show. Now I'm wondering how they are going to travel to this show. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/80171-rmweb-live-1314-september-ricoh-stadium-coventry/ I think they may be signing autographs and having their photograph taken with other RMweb celebrites.
