The class 31 is a Chinnor loco and has been completely rebuilt by about four guys over quite a few years  I used to watch the work happening when I was a volunteer there .It is a wonderful preservation job and the chaps responsible should be very proud of what has been carried out a credit to the railway.

Great pictures Jim I'll have to keep an eye out for you as from next week I'll be doing a lot more trips to Walsall with the new Rugeley/Walsall to London services starting again after 50 years.

And I agree it's great to see the 08's back at Bescot doing what they had been built for.

Cheers

Colin

Another possession train yesterday, banbury to bescot, nice little job, it had originated from high Wycombe

And into bescot, 66722 was in the rear so I can guess what my loco on the Toton tripper will be later today!

Some from toton

loco for today was 66758

I arrived quite late to see you at Chellaston so I didn't manage a video, but I waved once I'd frantically grabbed the camera!

Chellaston Change

And then I went to Toton to see the convoy arrive...however there was a multi car RTC on the A50 so I sat in the sweltering car for half an hour, by which time it had arrived. When I got there I could just glimpse it on the wash road through the heat haze:

Duff Day Out

Is that your good self per chance Jim?

I didn't stay for it leaving as I had to be back in Derby but it was quite late leaving...would've made a nice exit shot but alas, not to be.

Thanks,

Jack.

Yeah that’s me, the reason it was late was 47749 had an air leak and the other driver was fault finding it and I was helping out, turned out a flexi hose had burst under the driver seat, luckily UKRL turned up and sorted it so it managed to depart

and some from today, a bit of variety at least

first up is this anonymous looking wall in crewe that is about to be demolished to make way for a new shopping development

so what I hear you say! Well that wall is the last remnant of the old crewe north shed, thought I’d better get a pic before it went

then at the station a northern 195 unit was waiting in the centre road

Then to Birmingham where I had to wait for my train to Leicester, this passed by while I was there en route to ruddington

And off at Woking, very nice old signal box

Nice long trains down here!

I love the quote stabiliser rail from now on when ever I'm asked about the shoe gear on our 350/1 fleet they're gonna be called stabilisers for our trainee drivers.

Some cracking photos Jim.

Cheers
