And I blew the knackered horn (sounded like a steam loco!)

It did sound a bit odd! My bike was away up on the bridge, otherwise I'd have pinged the bell back.

You probably passed the GW HST for Hull Trains on its way from Bristol to Hull at some point then.

I notice that once again there is a nice streak of dirt gradually obscuring the GB logo on the cabside of your loco. Unless I m misled by the different lighting it got noticeably dirtier during the day.

Oops - typo rather than wrong company. Sorry

The unusual ballast wagon is one of a small number of BBA steel carriers given a new body for ballast and spoil work. There are rather more similar wagons based on recycled BDA/BMA/BNA chassis.

I think there's only one BBA conversion to MVA -  910164.

Cheers,

Mick

Only one from today, had to walk from Leicester station to humberstone road, passed the depot en route, certainly nice in this day and age to see a depot with a nice variety of stock sat on it including 33, 37, 47, 50, 56, 57, 58

Does anyone know what the green coach on the left is? I thought it was Caroline but zooming in it seems to have plated over windows. And I'm not sure it's narrow enough.

I believe that it's one of the green Eastleigh Arlington branded barrier coaches. I know that their are at least two of these in green.

Nice pic and a very wide collection of traction especially if you include what looks like a Sentinel tucked up near the 56's.

They have two - a Hudswell and a Thomas Hill. That's the TH in view.

From Flickr. (there are more pics with careful searching)

Had a phone call last night “can I work a ballast down the Cambrian for Colas”, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) I was otherwise engaged today taking the youngest to london for a couple of days

After a ride down on a pendolino we got the tube to Greenwich and had a ride on the emirates cable car over the Thames

then caught the docklands for a couple of stops to the hotel near the excel, not been on the docklands for years (at least the late 80s)

It's one of the recently converted ex GLV translator coaches, 68501 or 68504.

iport today, job gone wrong already as there has been an incident between banbury and Leamington blocking the line so my train which should be arriving into coleshill in an hour is stuck south of oxford so I’ve got to get a taxi to banbury to meet it there

Had a cracking run from banbury to Doncaster, 270 late leaving and just over 60 late into Doncaster thanks to some good signalling regulation by WMCC and EMCC boxes, luckily the train was only 800 ton so it could get up to speed quickly and stay there

And some more 66s
