I am starting a new topic so that I can regularly up-date additions to my fotopic galleries.

There are now over 10800 images over 11 galleries covering Northumbria, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, South West England The Midlands & Eastern England, Southern Counties, Cumbria, Narrow Gauge, Switzerland and East German Narrow Gauge.

Latest collection to be added is in the South West England Gallery and covers the 1970's

I have added two collections which will be intended for covering ex Midland Railway and ex London & North Western Railway locations. First batch of photos cover West Hampstead to Bedford prior to electrification and scenes on the Richmond - Willesden Junction line in the 1970's. Not brilliant images unfortunately.

Over the last few weeks I have acquired over 500 new images which will gradually be added to the various fotopic galleries. The views date from the 1960's to the 1990's ; however there are 50 odd that I am unable to pin down as to the location' I have accordingly created a new Gallery

There's nowt on the telly so if you looking for a challenge, have a peek! Some are no doubt glaringly obvious. If you can assist put a message on the gallery.

Many thanks

http://erniesunknownrailwaylocations.fotopic.net/p63799187.html Brush 4 with a headcode 0K47? Looks like a preserved jobby, possibly on the East Lance somewhere? I would have left a comment, but I push buttons and nothing happens...............

Definitely the bridge at the top end of Keighley station and equally definitely a preservation era shot (note the Austin Metro in the background).

Many thanks for posting here - i really like your sites, especially the Cumbrian one!

You don't get to see too many photos of the Cumbrian lines (WCML excepted!), especially the coastal routes and i find them fascinating.

Cheers,

John E.

Thanks, I went down to Workington yesterday to sample the 'shuttle', 47501 & 57012 and managed to photograph them passing the 'trip' leaving Workington Docks with 66102.

66423 & 66427 also top n tailed 19 bogie opens; does anyone know what this working is?. It could be a training run as I think the same pair passed me near Flimby.

The latest collection covers the railways of Somerset, mainly the branch lines , in the 1960's and can be found in:

These views are mainly the copyright of Neil Parkhouse and others from his collection covering Somerset have also been added to the Salisbury-Exeter Collection in the same Gallery.

Wonderful!

Is that really a Schools at Yeovil Town?

How common was that?

'Tis. In their latter days, probably not so unusual - they used to work semi-fasts from Salisbury apparently - long before my time. I've seen a selection photos over the years of these machines at Junction, but this is the first (that I can recall) on shed at Town. The chocolate and cream liveried slip coach (or former slip coach) at Chard Central is a welcome and unusual find too.

Hi Ernie,

Very nice stuff.

I am aware that the vendor of these John Phillips slides had lent a number to Neil to look at, please could you PM me about the copyright on some of these as I hold the original slides.

Kind regards

Duncan

Ernie,

Your 'unknown location' pic with 73004 etc is at Dover. I had a strange feeling when I looked at it - checked my pics and came up with this one taken from an almost identical position, taken on the 9th August 1981 but minus the 33s. (Strange because I've only visited Dover twice.)
