First batch of photos cover West Hampstead to Bedford prior to electrification and scenes on the Richmond - Willesden Junction line in the 1970's. Not brilliant images unfortunately. http://erniesrailwayarchive.fotopic.net/c1811374.html http://erniesrailwayarchive.fotopic.net/c1802667.html regards Ernie

RMweb Premium Flying Pig Posted March 23, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2010 This one looks like Wigan Wallgate (I've never been there - just guessed from the destination blind!). Interesting how the brick building on the left has changed colour, presumably with cleaning. What happened to the photo of the large disused trainshed, btw? Did someone identify it? Definitely the bridge at the top end of Keighley station and equally definitely a preservation era shot (note the Austin Metro in the background). You don't get to see too many photos of the Cumbrian lines (WCML excepted!), especially the coastal routes and i find them fascinating. Cheers, John E. Adam
Wonderful! Is that really a Schools at Yeovil Town? How common was that? 'Tis. In their latter days, probably not so unusual - they used to work semi-fasts from Salisbury apparently - long before my time. I've seen a selection photos over the years of these machines at Junction, but this is the first (that I can recall) on shed at Town. The chocolate and cream liveried slip coach (or former slip coach) at Chard Central is a welcome and unusual find too. http://railwaysofcornwall.fotopic.net/p64054547.html Adam

DerekEm8
Ernie, Your 'unknown location' pic with 73004 etc is at Dover. I had a strange feeling when I looked at it - checked my pics and came up with this one taken from an almost identical position, taken on the 9th August 1981 but minus the 33s. (Strange because I've only visited Dover twice.)
