Here are a couple of pics of the ill fated 37011. The loco was involved in a major collision with two class 303 EMUs in 1987 and scrapped in 1989.

 

BR Blue , steam heat, at Glasgow QS

Great pics of 37 884 - I think they show what could have been done with the majority of the Class 37 fleet had someone had the forethought - Hindsight is a wonderful thing :yes:.

I think the 2nd photo is at Crianlarich and not Fort Bill shed?

Whilst I cannot be certain, l am pretty sure it is August 1984.

You could be right with the date - it ties in with my memories.

 

I was working out of Fort William for the whole summer in 1984 and was in and out of the station almost every day.

 

That is - between pick up's and deliveries!

The reason for these odd happenings was usually a visit to Crewe works with a visit to Buxton for a test run before return home.

 

The test run was usually the 'Peakstone' to Hope Street
