Interesting E suffix on the LH one

Most NER allocated DBT's had the E suffix from new. Gateshead stencilled "GD" to some of their DBT's under the number and a few had shed plates affixed.

Looks like 13 and 14 roads , wasn't used for locos for many years prior to closure.  Used for wagon repairs

Fantastic picture thanks for sharing

11-3-20. York. God knows how many i watched taking pics' of this loco'on the web cam in the week before i got there using my cheap TPE sale tickets, i was just praying all week that there would be something still parked up when i got there. :D All of Richards fine pics' above reminded me i'd not posted these yet.

The first shot with the bird over the 37 is a brilliant shot

The maintenance area of Thornaby shed on Easter Sunday 18th April 1965. We have on the left a class 37, on the right a class 25 and in the centre Ivatt 2-6-0 no. 43056. This was the only steam engine on the shed that day and in fact the last steam engine I ever saw on Thornaby in steam days.

Another superb picture,  I was wondering if the 4mt was there for the wheel drop the drops are on the next two roads as can be seen in the picture.  The drops on the road next to the camera were taken out of use but the other was in service until the end.  Both drops were accessed by a common shaft behind the 25
