Two from about 1985 - scans from film - if that's OK?

First A BR Standard Class 4 Mogul from the SVR. I had a cab ride and a drive!!  :boast:

Great photo

The 75xxx Standard 4's aren't moguls though, as they are 4-6-0's. The 76xxx's were moguls.

Regards,

Matt

Here's 4 different loco profiles at different locations along the freight only line from Warrington that serves Fiddlers Ferry Power Station.  There's some good opportunities for some close encounters of trains that can be shot safely behind the fence!

66509 has just left Fiddlers Ferry and is heading for Latchford Sidings to run around its train.

Another shot of a 70 as 70005 rounds a curve on the approach to the power station.

Good afternoon.

Just done this quick pen and wash sketch of an N2 taken from life: i.e. the Hornby N2 posed for me. Lots of things wrong with the painting, not least the proportions that need correction and colouration, but, well, it's a start.

Regards to all,

Cliff

The NRM(Shildon) is perfectly orientated to catch the late afternoon sun but... all them lampposts, spotlights, anemometer, and other upright thingies to catch the unwary. I don't like photoshppping to remove eyesores so here's the raw Furness No. 20.

Edited to make clear I meant Shildon.

You've been kind enough to accept my pen and ink drawings in this section, so I hope you don't mind another.

This is again the N2 from a slightly different angle. As you will see it's an almost N2: recognisable as such, but with summat not quite right. The something, as I'm sure you will see at once,  is the perspective which distorts the wheels' spacings that should be closer together. Still, I'll plug away and hopefully arrive at where I want to be sometime soon.
