marc smith
The goods shed looks great RayI think you're enjoying your scratchbuildingIs the Wills Flexi brickwork a different material to the wills brickwork sheet then?Don't think I've seen a different type of will brick sheet - just the usual 5' x 3' rigid sheetI recently picked up some rather nice Noch sheets of brickworkThe relief is very nice indeed, and the sheets are a useful sizeBigger than the Wills sheets, but not as big as the Slaters sheetsgood detail and relief, and flexible & easy to cutOf course, it may well be a tad underscale (prob HO)but the bricks look a good size to my eyeKeep us posted on progressMarc
RAY NORWOOD
Hi Marc Sorry for late reply. The Wills brick card is a bit thicker than the Slaters sheets but the Wills emboss I think is better. Wills Flexible brick sheets is to form bridge arch linings and the part number is SSMP231. I will have to have a look at the Noch brick sheets.
RAY NORWOOD
Hi I have done some more work on the goods shed and fitted the top of the layout in place with the LED strips for the lighting, I got the worm white LED's and the LED's do not get hot. The goods shed in made of plasticard and the brick work is of the wills range Flexible brick sheets, I have not glued in place yet. I have to do a bit more inside and the tiles on the roof, I will do this the same way as the station building then more painting. When the goods shed is finished I will make a start on the office which will be attached to the shed on the right hand side. You can see the windows and the wall in side and a wagon on the left.

RAY NORWOOD
Hi Just finished the goods shed, but I am waiting for the green paint on the gable ends and fascia's to dry so I can do some weathering on it, The tiles as I have said before is done the same way as the station building and painted with water colours so it soaks into the paper, the moss is glued down with wall paper past and scatter on top. I am very pleased with the way it has turned out, I think I have mastered the scratch building of buildings know. My next job is to build the office to go on the side and the water tank building to go on the other side of the goods shed as you can see in picture below with out the tank. The next three pictures is of the LSWR water crane (Mikes Models) at the end of the platform and the station lights(Langley Models) I also need to finish just put in place. RAY NORWOOD
I have been doing the gardening weekend laying the grass and fitted the station building and the goods shed in place and bedding them in with ash and a bit of moss. The grass is static grass using my home made static grass applicator, I used winter fibres and spring fibres, I put on PVA glue in patches then used the applicator filled with the winter fibres, put a pin into the glue and then put the crocodile clip on the pin turn on and away I went applying the fibres when done I hooved the access up with a cloth over the hoovers nozzle to catch the access bits. I then used hear spray over the top of the winter fibres and then put on the spring fibres in the same way as before. I have also put some grass on the sector plate as you able to see the sector plate from the viewing area. This picture is looking into the sector plate as you can see there is a bit of scenic in the sector plate area. I have got to finish the water tank building next.
