57313 coasts through Brighouse on 17th July 2015 (it was running a few minutes early and had been checked by 2W73, the preceding Selby to Huddersfield service) with 5Z44, 1016 Carnforth Steamtown to Ely.

57316 brought up the rear.

First here's the Northern Belle in May

Here's a few shots of 57303 the FGW hire in class 57 a few weeks back on the Saturday loco hauled turn. It's been down with FGW so long I'm surprised they haven't renamed it Carlisle Castle to fit in with the home fleet!

57306 heads towards Huddersfield at Colne Bridge on 24th July 2015 with 1Z16, 06.18 York to Bangor, Belmond Northern Belle Excursion.

57305 was on the rear.

The route for this excursion as it passed through Yorkshire was interesting to say this least.  From York the roundabout route was via;

Church Fenton,

Milford Junction heading east (!) into Leeds via Whitwood Junction

(continuing east!) to Garforth,

Gascoigne Wood Junction (Reverse),

Milford Junction (again!),

Whitwood Junction (again!)

Wakefield Kirkgate,

before finally reaching the trans-Pennine route at Thornhill LNW Junction.

By the time the excursion passed me at Colne Bridge the train was 3 hours into its journey.  By comparison a trans-Pennine service train does the equivalent journey in a touch over 40 minutes, including a stop at Leeds and possibly Dewsbury and Garforth too.

OK, I know its an excursion with several pick-up points and the punters are probably being wined and dined so a more leisurely pace would be more appropriate but I wonder if, whilst they enjoyed the wonderful Yorkshire countryside, they noticed that they were heading in entirely the opposite direction to reach the final destination and went through several places twice !

A rather dirty 57306 working 5Z14, a single OGA MK3 coach, Norwich to Doncaster Works, crossing the Welney Washes at Pymore on 7th January 2016.

Earlier in it's journey, the weather was as dirty as the loco ! - I had to drive through a lot of surface water, not helped by my normal route being temporarily closed meaning I was diverted down in even smaller lanes than usual. I chose to stand under the tiny bit of shelter meaning the loco is sprouting a lamp but I tend not to worry about such things anyway.
