Weather pics

Help please! Some time ago, I downloaded from either this thread or the "Days why I live in the U.K." one, a series of two or three photographs showing a misty woodland scene, with an old gate, low sunlight shining through a gap in the trees,  a human figure and a couple of dogs. My wife spotted the pics and asked me to save them for her.I did, but now I've lost them, accidental deletion, whatever!

As a result, I'm in the doghouse. Can anyone help me, please? I've spent hours looking back thro' the threads and can't find them.

Point me in the right direction, ANYTHING!

Cheers

David (in disgrace!)

Hi....

Although not strictly 'on topic' relating to pictures......for all 'weather nuts' like myself.....if you're not already aware.....the met office have digitalised the daily weather summary and associated charts and available online....

Commemoration of the Mothers of the War.

Next two aren't actually weather, but I'll put them here anyway.

Hi....

It was blinking cold at work this morning..... -10C on arrival......

post-20610-0-75383000-1513098689_thumb.jpg

but not just as chilly as it apparently was at Shawbury about 30 miles away to the northwest.....

the 'heat' from the interior of an unheated greenhouse was sufficient when seeping through the insulation of a thick covering of snow on the glass to allow melt water to freeze again into a line of small icicles along the gutter....pretty eh?

The air is coming out of the accumulated snow layer now, so looking a bit flatter than it did so yesterday....

This was the cloud above chez moi mid-evening last night. Miraculously not a drop of rain fell, although distant rumbles were very evident. This was in the south-west, while to the east the sky was still blue. Today has been slightly cooler than of late, only 27 this afternoon, but cooler days are in prospect. The May weekend looks to be wet - such events are not a UK exclusive!

Want some weather pics?

Unfortunately we were on the receiving end of the most torrential downpour I can remember in my 72 years.

View in road just after the rain started:

Some more views a bit later:

My neighbour's front gardens:

Unfortunately this is my railway room, the water is at least 6" above the bottom of the door.

It stands on two layers of tannalised timber

That's what 75mm in 95mins does.

Keith

All the gardens and several houses are flooded and it has never happened before.

My word Keith .... that's a lot of water

Hope theres no permanent damage!

Phil

Unfortunately there probably is

A lot of my stock was boxed and in cupboards under the layout and were submerged to a depth of at least 6"

Insurance will cover any such damaged items.

My main concern however is the floor of the building which is OSB overlaid with laminate floor with carpet on top.

If the floor needs replacing my layout which has taken best part of 10 years to do will need to be completely dismantled, It's on a series of 4' x 2' boards and is not intended for dismantling.

The layout itself is fine as everything is way off the floor and the feet are plastic kitchen cupboard legs.

Fortunately our house didn't get any water in, several around here were badly affected.
