Axel.Richardson
The shed looks great !! Realy like the depot shed!! top work.. So you think it looks ok? I'm still unsure if I like it and am unsure if it suits the location. I cant remember if I said that it was started for old layout. Hi Axel, The layout is looking great, I really like the scrap yard. The track plan looks very interesting too , looks like there is loads of operation potential. following with interest. Marcus Thankyou Marcus As always space was a issue so I've had to do what i can, the main loops are for background running with all the action in the yard. I like to model over running so doubt I'll run hardly anything once it done, just have a few locos sitting and maybe shunt a few wagons in and out the scrapyard. It just gives me something to hone my skills on and somewhere to relax.

Axel.Richardson
Thanks mate, I've added some detAil now so looks better, I'll post some pictures soon Update time Been doing a little more on the layout, this time spending some time on the scrap yard scene and constructing the what I presume from pictures are a scrap crusher and baler. I must stress that I'm not recreating the scrap yard exactly but using it as a guide, I'm putting my own twist on the idea and using modellers licence. So here are the two machines and also started on some scrap piles, I've got to paint some and add more. Some shots in position on the layout I've also got a new shed for the hard standing next to the scrap yard

Axel.Richardson
Thanks I got the machines off eBay, not expensive I think between £10-15 each, are by no means perfect but gives me a base to improve at a later date. However now I'm filling the yard I feel they are a little large and will probably replace for something smaller

Axel.Richardson
Hi guys, Ive managed to have a full day on the layout on Saturday, got a bit done. I wanted to make a start on one of the bridges. Ive gone with a stone arch style to match the retaining wall behind the TMD. Ive used the same arches as the retaining walls, I had a few left over. I thought they would do for what I wanted. As there is a road going under the bridge, Ive raised the road up 1cm above the track to make the landscape a little More interesting. After this I used match sticks as curbs for the road, makes the road look a lot better I think. I made some profile pieces for the landscape and filled using polystyrene and wet toilet paper to form the bace for modroc. Just a few shots of the landscape with a coat of brown and the walls in primer, with my fist attempt at weathering a wall. Hopefully it looks ok. Axel.Richardson
Little update. I've done a little bit more the last few days. Made a start on the road and attempted painting road markings, not the straitest I admit but now I've faded them to replicate a worn road they ok. I've also weathered the bridge and started on static grass. I don't have a applicator so sieved it on and hoovered strait away to get it to stand on end. Again not great but will do once covered in undergrowth I hope

Thanks guys, could of spent a bit more time getting the lines the same size, going to try a different technique on the next road I do. I mixed my own blend of acrylic until it matched what I was after, the hard bit is mixing more for next time

Axel.Richardson
Hi guys, Little update I've been having a go at detailing the ground cover, adding long grass and other things. I've been using the method of rolling long static grass mix by hand and sticking into pva. It seems to work brilliantly. Here are the results. Before And after I've gone and done the same by the stone bridge, adding long grass and shrubs, I've finished adding the security fencing. I've had a go at a little scene, showing a car crashed after coming round corner to fast, might make out skid marks, a police man having a word, the cars will be replaced with damaged Capri and police car with flashing lights of I can find one. On the other side of the bridge I've carried the retaining wall along, on top to the right I'll have a town seven and on the left is going to be a pub with beer garden.
