Evening all,

Callum has added his video to those already posted regarding Larkrail.

For those who may not have seen it on the Larkrail thread, I repeat it here.

Rob.

Just seen this and watched on Facebook. What an excellent line up of layouts!

Morning all.

It's a lovely record of a great day out with the trainset amongst very good company. Each layout offered something a little different.

I think Callum captured this very well indeed.

While we are waiting for an update on the J70 I thought I should post a photo of my Rapido Toad, weathered following Rob’s “how to” a few pages back. All done with dry powder.

Morning Alex,

Well, that really does look the part. How did you find using the powders ?

We've been having a bit of a general sort out over the last few days but I'm hoping to progress the J70 over the weekend. However,  there's a bit of "priority" non train stuff to sort out first.

Morning Rob. It was fine working with the powders. I used them dry this time, resisting all temptation to add any wet stuff, and following the process In your “how to”. I did a small area at a time, and found myself using a lot of Matt white to tone down the wood. Powders used were mainly Humbrol, with a couple of Mig.

Good to hear, Alex and reassuring that my waffle is followable. I know a number of modellers will add pigment to something wet. I've not done so thus far and remain happy with the results I'm getting. That said, I am determined to try some mig powders to see what they can offer.

And on the subject of powders.......

Is that a "reverse Hosking?"....

You do realise that within His Majesty's Royal Navy even the very mention of that practice has been illegal since the reign of Queen Victoria.........

The bonus with the skirty jobs is you can get away with not weathering the chassis...........I'll pop it back in once I've weathered the body but the chassis will go in before I pop the body on......I think....ish.

Not wishing to nit pick or anything, but where are it's wheels oh sheepy one? Or does it levitate. Which given the past history of this thread I would not be at all surprised if it did.

It's an unsuccessful prototype steam hovercraft.

It might have worked if the Victorians hadn't insisted on using iron for the skirts instead of rubber...

I always think that they proceed about the place in a Darlekesque fashion.
