RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted December 8, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) I have never seen such detail and fine engineering performed using card. Buildings are one thing, but whole loco's with full detail is something completely different. This is truly amazing work and jaw dropping. Thank you for sharing your skill and patience with us! Grasshopper John
Hello Mirek, I have just read your thread from start to last post, You are a master craftsman.
RMweb Gold PhilH Posted December 21, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 21, 2015 If I were to see that steam pipe set up modelled in any usual medium, metal or plastic, I would think that it was a fine job. To think that it was modelled as you have done it is truly superb. For me, this thread should be flagged up as one demonstrating the highest levels,of craftmanship....superb. RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted December 31, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) I've just come across this thread and I'm in awe of your craftsmanship. I'm sure that it's all been said before but these models are absolutely stunning. It's hard to believe that it's made from card. I was sure that the wheels were metal until I saw the post where you construct the wheels out of card, UNBELIEVABLE. WELL DONE. Mirmic
Hi, John, Duncan, Brian, thanks a lot! Today not too much. Drain system for inside and outside cyinders. Drain cocks for outside cylinders: All drain cocks: and "fenders" over wheels of leading boogie. Cheers Mirek
RAF96
I am speechless at the quality of this work Mirek - absolutely unbelievable. Produced in any other medium it would be admirable, but made out of cornflake packets - just impossible to get my head round. I hang my head in shame at the rubbish I turn out using 'better' materials. Edited February 7, 2016 by RAFHAAA96
RMweb Premium PaternosterRow Posted January 15, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2016 Couldn't agree more with the comments made so far. Absolutely amazing work. Someone employ or financially back this man quickly and get him to produce these in kit form for general release. Brilliant work of a genius!
Mirmic
Hello, RAFHAAA96, PaternosterRow I don't know what to say. I think, you overestimate me. But in the other side it is quite nice. Last time wasn't so good, work gone not so quick. Today Internal gear of Walschaert and back part of foot plate. Rgds Mirek

RMweb Gold PhilH Posted January 29, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 29, 2016 Again wow...just can't think of anything else to say. You have to bring your work to an exhibition in the UK at some stage so we can see it for real. I'm sure that there will be an outbreak of jaws hitting the floor.... RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted February 17, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 17, 2016 I cannot believe this work has not been picked up by any of the modeling press yet. I keep seeing the same layouts written about time and time again in different modeling magazines, yet masterpieces like this get missed completely. Come on RM, BRM, Hornby, MR and all those other Monthly's, lets see something new like this! A Cornflake packet "duchess" with incredible detail. I would love to have one of these in a glass case on my shelf - I doubt I could ever afford to buy one or get one commissioned mind you., seeing how much work and time is involved

RMweb Premium CF MRC Posted February 28, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 28, 2016 Mirek It is a privilege to see your Mountain taking shape and an education for everyone to see how an engine is constructed. You will certainly know how Chapelon designed his engine by the time it's finished! This ought to be written up for Model Railway Journal.
