Did anybody ( other than my mate who was with me at the time, drooling ) notice the Bachmann Limited Edition Class 47's in the Bachmann cabinet at Warley ?

Old style Intercity 47 835 and dutch 47 975 were on display and seemd to be fantastic BUT............when are they coming out ?

Thanks,

Dave

Yes, I was surprised to see these, especially the Dutch one, although I didn't realise they were to be Modelzone limited editions. 47 835 was going to be sold by Antics, but I think it has now been cancelled:

I don't know when they are to be released but a best guess would be when the standard issue ones come out (Dec/Jan according to the Bachmann website), hopefully with the Kernow green one and Rails of Sheffield ScotRail-InterCity one too.

There are pictures of them here:

It doesn't say who is releasing 47975 or 835 now.

Hi All

Contacted Bachmann to find out where they are being released and got this reply;

Many thanks for your email.

I understand that these are limited edition models that have been cancelled by the retailers that they were produced for due to the economic situation.

Our understanding is that they will be offered only through the Bachmann website. Please keep an eye on the website for further information.

Little worrying that they have done 47835 with an Intercity mainline lower stripe, and swallow logos. the lower half should be intercity white!

Whoops, hopefully just an error on the pre-production model, with fingers crossed that it was done by someone practicing for a future Intercity Mainline liveried version.

Stuck at home today because of the snow. so i phoned Bachmann regarding these two models as i would like one of each.

They confirmed that these items were nothing to do with Modelzone. They are two models that were commissioned and then cancelled by retailers for one reason or another.

They will be made available around mid January from the Bachmann Website for direct delivery to us modellers.

Looking forward to the Dutch one in particular.

Can anyone please confirm that Windsor Castle was a Royal Train Loco?

Yes, Windsor Castle was a Royal Train loco. Bit of a history of it from the Antics website from when it was going to be their limited edition model: http://www.railway-models.co.uk/1302_1_2225303.html

Good picture of it in ex-works condition here: http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_zoom_v2.php?img=0849000197018

That is great, thank you very much.

I think i will be treating myself to these in the new year as a slightly late Christmas present to myself.

The reviews of the Branchline 47 elsewhere on this site look rather good.

Have many happy memories of that Dutch one. It seemed to pop up wherever i was gricing for a summer back in the good old days!

The Dutch loco is now available on the Bachmann homepage. seems to the same price as other ltd editions are being sold for. comes with a nice certificate. need a credit card to order on line tho.

I love that Dutch livery, I remember that 47 well. seemed to turn up every where i went in the early 90's

No info on Windsor Castle yet tho. Probably not arrived yet

47 975 looks very nice and I have just placed my order on the Bachmann site as it will be an ideal loco to run on Victory Road with a failed 108 in tow when I next get that layout out for a run! The old lima model always seemed a popular choice on many layouts at exhibitions and this model might just see a few of those old models retired!
