  1. True enough. Wheelbase accuracy for locomotives with coupling rods is important but a drift of a mm is ok as long as the chassis and coupling rods match. Wheel diameters vary according to wear, again about a mm is usually ok. A scale rule is extremely useful and saves a lot of tedious calculations, especially for structure modelling.
  2. HO always looks a bit narrow-gauge to me.....
  3. 4mm/ft is quite easy.......
  4. Starliner - maybe soon! https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/25/world/boeing-starliner-launch-spacex-delays-scn/index.html
  5. There are some industries/services that are more appropriate in the public sector. I believe railways are one of them. Many European countries still think along these lines with rail transport......
  6. I really don't understand Testors business approach. They bought Floquil oil based US RR paints and subsequently discontinued them. They had a hand in an acrylic range and replaced them with Model Master Acryl which were generally good. Now they've discontinued all the larger bottles of both enamels and acrylics, and the Model Master name. Now there are just tiny enamel and acrylic bottles in sets. I have quite a lot left but for new have adopted Vallejo, Citadel and Modelflex.
  7. The pilot is there to advise, the Master is in command. It could be argued that the ship had inadequate fail safe systems - not such a problem in the open ocean but important in critical control situations like this or in canals.
  8. Badger has a good selection in several ranges including US railroads. https://badgerairbrush.com/Modelflex_3.asp The consistency is good for brush painting but can be a bit glossy.
  9. Ok, going back on a Virgin A350 on Tuesday so will monitor.....
  10. April 9th, DL0176. The on-board flight tracker was indicating exactly 50,000ft for most of the flight......
  11. I recently flew from Atlanta to Dublin on a Delta A350 and was surprised that we cruised at 50,000ft!
  12. Yes, true enough, a possible case of 'I know it's correct', I've done plenty of examples over the years, but at viewing distance you probably can't tell if the wires go behind the posts or through them! Good work though!
  13. I must admit this was not a consideration I made. I tried using the Ratio fence kit but had trouble using solvent to attach the wires to the posts. I ended up making posts from square section styrene, drilled using a jig and threaded with brown cotton - I stiffened the end of the cotton with superglue to make threading easier.....
  14. Luckily all the acrylic modelling and artists paints I use are water soluble for brush cleaning.
  15. Surely an easy way to tell is what is recommended for clean up?
