  1. Its nice to see the class 90's soldiering on! Shame there's a few rotting away at Crewe, such a waste as they could have been put back to work years ago rather than left to rot and more than likely end up on the scrap heap. Same can be said for the class 60's at Toton, we seem to be very wasteful as a country when it comes to rolling stock. Best regards, Jeremy
  2. Thanks Keith. Hopefully will not take as long as the previous one. I'm hoping to get the layout back up and running this coming week as I have had to make a few minor changes to the baseboards. Also hope to start scratch building my turnouts using copper clad sleepers from the 2mm association and code 55 rail from C&L fine scale. Best regards, Jeremy
  3. Hi Keith, Many thanks for the advice. It sounds like a good plan and will give some consistency for each arch. Looks like I'll be treating the kids to a box of magnums this weekend then! Best regards, Jeremy
  4. I have ordered the SBB Cargo liveried version from Scograil in Ipswich.
  5. Good afternoon, With the heat I have not been able to airbrush the colours onto the post depot building but hopefully I'll be able to do this over the coming week. Just need to find a near enough shade of red/maroon for the main parts. In the meantime, I've been cracking on and have made a start on the second building for the layout. This one will be an abbreviated representation of the ABB building building just outside Baden station. It will sit at the front of the layout and will have the tracks sweeping round in front of it (or behind when on the viewing side of the layout). It will be in relief to the front of the layout and at an angle so it looks more natural and not "plonked in position". I've made a start drawing out the first side with the large windows including the arch to the tops. I'll have fun cutting those out! Best regards, Jeremy
  6. I don't think Kato/Hobbytrain products need running in to be honest. They are ready to go straight out the box.
  7. You can't go wrong with anything from Kato to be honest. Always first class products.
  8. Cracking stuff David! Have a good weekend! Best regards, Jeremy
  9. Not too dissimilar then. Bo Bo rather than Co Co and with some body side differences. The one in the photo is currently being tested around Switzerland and looks really impressive. There 's a few videos of it online.
  10. Hi, Re620's are on their way! Lemke have just posted some nice pics to their Facebook page and photos of the models are also own their website. A bit disappointed that the front handles are mouldings and not separate parts like on their newly released re420's. The new pantographs look really good though and the overall appearance is also very good. https://www.facebook.com/lemke.gmbh/ https://www.lemkecollection.de/de/Uebersicht/Spur-N/E-Lok-Re-620-11629-SBB-Ep.V-VI-mit-Klimaanlage-rot Best regards, Jeremy
  11. I thought it was. I remember seeing an article on this back in an old Railway Modeller magazine.
  12. Cracking layout! That last photo looks familiar. What is the name of this layout? Best regards, Jeremy
  13. Hi Simon, Looking good. I like the regional 31! Dare I ask if you are keeping it in that livery?! Have a great bank holiday weekend! Best regards, Jeremy
  14. Spoken to Scograil and pre-ordered an SBB Cargo liveried version! Can't wait!
  15. Good evening, In between showers, I managed to get the post depot building outside for a priming session using an aerosol for priming cars. It has coated nice and smooth and relatively evenly. A few bits that I need to finish have been highlighted so will sort those out and prime again ready for the finishing colours. Best regards, Jeremy
  16. Evening all, Latest arrivals for the layout in the form of two Swiss SBB re4/4’s. Both very nicely detailed and Hobbytrain have now added the handrails as seperately fitted items rather than the usual modelled versions. Really makes a difference to the overall appearance of the cab fronts. Best regards, Jeremy
  17. Ah good, cheers. Will contact them and see what they have. Best regards, Jeremy
  18. Good morning, Had an email from Menzells Lokschuppen yesterday with the 4 new Re6/6's. Can't see a release date but assume they are iminent as they are sending out correspondence relating to them. Doers anyone have any further updates on these? I've been after a Cargo liveried version for ages and can't wait for these to land! The versions on offer will be red liveried 620-029 Interlaken, green liveried 11662 Reuchenette-Pery, SBB Cargo liveried 620-051 Dornach-Arlesheim and Xrail SBB Cargo liveried 620-088 Linthal. Also, does anyone know of where I could get transfers from for Swiss locos, would be nice to get a couple of the Cargo liveried versions and renumber/rename one of them. Cheers, Jeremy
  19. Looking good David. The back wall is really effective.
  20. Afternoon all, Well, I have finally got the postal depot to a stage where it can be primed and ready for painting. I have two more window frames to install on the back and then its ready. I have decided to build the depot interior and trackside canopy separately. Here's a couple of photos. Best regards, Jeremy
  21. Evening, Cracking topic and a great selection of photos of a legendary loco. thanks for posting! Best regards, Jeremy
