  10. There’s a magazine publication called On Shed with various volumes . they have trackplans and sometimes shed building plans I don’t know which one frodingham would be in but worth a look see if they’ve covered the shed in one of the magazines brian
  11. It’s slaters 4mm dressed stone sheets 0424 Slaters Plastikard 4mm Dressed Stone Grey regards brian
  12. Hi nick thanks ,I’m making out that there’s another colliery connection further down the line offscene to the lefthand side of the layout where the trains come out and can leave that way so trains can leave 2 different ways but only access the colliery sidings via my colliery connection. my junction and branch is only part of the scenario, which I should have added in my earlier post lol And it’s also to save a little money at the moment ,In buying more points And colbalts I may put in a run around in at sometime in future on slow lines thanks Brian
  13. Alittle more done today fitted all droppers and fastened more track down One thing I wanted was to reverse up the branch to colliery and colliery sidings so had a quick test and what that would look like I’ve a class 25 sat in the loop on a mixed freight while a pair of 37’s propel a rake of empty HAA wagons onto the colliery branch forgive the overhead portals and old semaphores as they’re just some I found in bottom of a box and placed for spacing and for me to better visualise the my vision I’ll build better signals and overhead portals once I get to that point thanks Brian
  14. Hi guys its been a while since I updated the thread but I have been busy ! I’ve decided to change the area the layouts set .I’ve now decided to set the layout around the wombwell ,darfield area near aldham which is on the Barnsley to Doncaster line just outside of Barnsley I’ve changed the name of the layout to aldham central the layout will be set fictitiously between aldham junction and wombwell central station it’ll have a two track station based on wombwell centrals with similar station buildings and footbridge and road bridge I’ve also decided to incorporate a colliery branch line a glassworks and sidings and a level crossing based on one’s from the area like darfield main crossing and elsecar junction crossing I’ve attached a crude plan The layout which has changed slightly since I’ve drawn it but the base aspects are there consist of 2 track fast lines ,2 goods lines , colliery branch ,glassworks sidings and level crossing. I’ve decided that the colliery branch can only be accessed via lines where you have to reverse up it, to add another degree of workability, similar to a few places from the area it’s set. in the top right hand corner near the level crossing will be a small industrial section like the area around manvers complex area with industrial buildings either side of the tracks and pipes going over the top of the tracks from buildings at one side to the other time period is mainly 70’s but will go earlier for steam workings bit of modellers license as I’m pretending the Barnsley to Doncaster passenger service survived and they’ll be a few diversions also. I’ll be able to run stuff from wath to woodhead ,barnsley and cudworth so nice mix of DC electrics and diesels Ive also attached a few pictures of progress on layout The layout is 00 gauge and 19 feet long X 10 feet wide thanks for looking Brian
  15. Good on him I follow him on ticktok and he’s just a decent guy who loves his hobby and is a pleasure to watch He’s very well liked on there not a bad comment about him which is unusual for ticktok comment sections lol also and even had Joe jonas come from America to train spot with him
  16. I’ve just done 14 of them ,the eccos makes it so much easier to program them if I can do them anyone can lol Brian
  17. Thanks Geoff Im a Barnsley lad but unfortunately too young to have seen the woodhead electrics it is very therapeutic just watching them go round and an easy distraction lol Bit more wiring done today after the train spotting and I’ve got the 4 main running lines and two scenic loops on front working, so bit of a tidy up on track and baseboards and I may get to start a bit of scenery thanks Brian
  18. The layout is 19feet long x 10 feet wide scenic section 3 sides and fiddle yard at rear i went to do some wiring on it and ended up stood watching trains go by for half an hour lol thought I’d take this video test my video skills which are not the greatest lol next ones will be better thanks Brian
  19. Hi all This is a thread about my 00 gauge layout Barnsley central it’s what will be a station ,junctions and a stabiling point set in Barnsley town centre southyorkshire. Kind of what if they’d built a big joint station instead of the two smaller ones Barnsley courthouse and Barnsley exchange. circa 1960-1970’s so I can run a bit of 60’s steam and run a BR blue period when I feel like it . It’s a bit of a what if had a bigger station and was more an important place railway wise . And what if the 1500 volts dc overhead electrification system was extended from Sheffield up the old Barnsley to Sheffield great central line to wombwell main junction and onwards to Barnsley making a loop line off the main Sheffield to penistone line with my electrified line joining the electrified route at west silkstone junction and then barnsley junction It’ll give me chance to run some EM1’s and EM2’s It’s a slow long project which I’ll not rushing but will make progress when I can, It’s dcc with some stuff having sound in. I’ll like to run a mix of things so a little rule one applies, also my 12 year old son run things , I tell him it’s mine and his layout sort of a mini club we have .He loves running stuff especially 08 shunters. and I let him run what he wants within reason lol ,but end of the day it’s all about him enjoying the layout and hobby so I’m quite lenient with him . I’ve things like Br blue HST set which I enjoy running plus other midland based things like that So it’ll not be surprising to see an HST along side a couple of EM1’s on a MGR train . it will have the overhead catenary built at some point but that’s after we’re totally happy with all other aspects of the layout Here are some pictures of the layout at present state and I’ve some videos to post at some point, And I’ll draw up some plans of where it’ll be on map and a track diagram . brief idea of layout is it’s a 4 track main with 2 fast 2 slow and a loop either side of those lines . theres a half relief 4 track station at one end and it’ll have a stabiling point for locos a bit like Guidebridge but not as complex and situated other side of Pennines lol Thanks Brian
  20. They look excellent I’ll definitely be after some when they become available
