  5. Me and the boy went today and it was a great day out . A high standard of modelling layouts and trade and demos. Very friendly atmosphere,but I think the guy on the till at squires models has to be the nicest and most polite trader I’ve ever met .(he may be guy that owns it not sure ) had a great conversation with him about upcoming things from them great show Regards Brian

Wentworth junction on the worsbrough branch was the home of the U1 garrett Monday to Friday it only went back to its parent shed mexbough at the weekends I believe wentworth junction was classed as a sub shed of mexbough even though there was no actual shed just a siding and water tower the banking locos getting their coal from the nearby wentworth silkstone colliery by using their loading shute

  10. I’ve never seen a picture of the signalbox either unfortunately don’t think I know anyone that has, it’s an enigma of a signalbox lol if I ever drop on one I’ll be sure to let you know Regards Brian
  11. Yes it’s heading up the bank with wombwell main junction and aldham estate in the distance I’ll see if I can find some that have relevance to mikes thread I don’t want to drag it off the topic of wentworth junction Regards Brian

  13. Been in conversation with a friend and he thinks the change in signalling is due to the abolition of strafford crossing signalbox the date I’ve got for that is Strafford crossing sb shut 27th feb 1966 Regards Brian
  14. Now I’m not too sure exactly how this worked but by accounts of someone that worked at the pit they didn’t have a loco there and was done with gravity picture from Facebook group I run regards Brian
  15. Just having a thought with the workings were changed to be tripped to wath and I think diesel hauled after the 1971 crash and my uncle only starting to take photos around early 70’s I’d say the picture is 1971/72 just before the crash Regards Brian

I don’t unfortunately my uncle very rarely dated owt all the pictures he took are from 70’s onwards Ive only ever seen pictures of it with a disk I will ask around and see if I can find out when it was changed what’s the date of the picture you have with the two miniature arms ?   21. Not so much a rural branch terminal but a small terminus with the goods yard facilities was Rotherham west gate station regards Brian
