  1. All, If anyone is still looking to fit a DCC chip;- I fitted a Gaugemaster 6 pin N gauge plug-in decoder - DCC23. A snug fit with no modifications, Not cheap mind you at £24.94. Regards Roy
  2. Evening All, After a day of wiring some of this;- JCClark and I managed to get some time to run some trains testing the newly layed lower fiddle yard and storage, up the helix to the scenic level (which has no scenic area as yet). Please see the youtube video linked for the trains. https://youtu.be/Crgi5-HqS4I Regards MrB
  3. Afternoon All, John has been running another train, as above his own re-sprayed DBS 60001 with 15 re-numbered HTAs features in it's own video. https://youtu.be/d_Py72yvdaQ Regards Roy
  4. Evening all, John has been busy again with helix testing and the first run of his new class 50 in revised blue. Please see the attached video Regards Roy
  5. Hello All, John and I finally managed to sync our calenders for another day on the railway. We managed to rebuild and fault find a few locos but, mostly we were track laying on the lower storage sidings. Above shows the storage for the two helixes, 6 roads for 1 and 7 for the other the right most two tracks are loop storage which loop the full lower level of the layout the next line moving left is to one helix and next is to the other line to the same helix the left most track is for storage. Plan view There is still loads to do here; - fitting of the power supply to the tracks, installation and wiring of the points and frog juicers, and then the DCC switch pilots Doubt much will be done for a few months as we are both busy, but when progress is made we will up-date when time allows. Thanks for reading Mr B edit: photo descriptions added
  6. Hello all, For those who maybe interested in viewing the load testing follow this link to the youtube video Enjoy....
  7. Just checked D8113 32-040DS is also a 21 pin V3.5 with 20x40mm speaker, not much of a bass enclosure more of a mounting bracket
  8. 66522 has the same set up as 66022, V3.5 21pin with 20x40mm speaker with reduced depth bass enclosure. Just checked.
  9. All, Please find a short video update on the progress with Parkway. https://youtu.be/NiVJaRXqofU Regards Mr B

    Dapol Class 21/29

Dapol website says anticipated delivery 3rd quarter 2015 http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=179_298_301_597
  11. Hello Gents, Are you going to Perth this year? I missed Glasgow sadly. Regards Roy
  12. Thank you all, I didn't mean to sound rude. I was going to follow tractor_37260's suggestion of the single speaker with the volume turned down. But If I was worried about what pauliebanger & RAFHAAA96 mention I'd use two 4 ohm in series as I stated. Sorry if there has been any miss understanding, I know how things can escalate from a few wrongly said/typed words. Life is so much easier face to face when discussing things.
  13. Thank you, I was aware of that but I was looking to use a 4 ohm as the lower the resistance the better the sound, if the impedence was an Issue I could always use two 4 ohm in series.
  14. Hi Ken, Thank you for the reply, just making sure 4 ohm was suitable before ordering replacements. Thanks Roy
  15. Hello tractor_37260, Did you fit a 4 or 8 ohm speaker to the TTS chip? I'm looking to fit mine to a Bachmann 37 then reconfigure the CVs to more suit the Bachmann loco. Regards Roy
  16. They are the 1200mm helix kits from Model Railway Solutions. Easy to build and straight forward too, only thing is you need a fair amount of track if you are going as high as these ones go. Regards Roy
  17. Hello, This is the current track plan for the lower level, it's very much subject to change. Regards Roy
  18. Anyone care to guess where I'm going with this. 050 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Haymarket? 08973?
  19. Welcome to a new beginning, We are currently planning and constructing a DCC controlled layout. The idea/plan is to create a modern image layout with a scenic area on a top level and train storage on a level below which is accessed by two helix. What we are hoping to achieve is the maximum length trains possible on the storage tracks to allow a prototypical lengths of train. Above is the view of the first helix, the top left will be the top level which will be the start of the scenic part. Above is the view of the location of the second helix, this will operate (clock wise) in the opposite direction to the first . Above is two of the long storage loops, further shorter sidings may yet be added here. Above shows the start of the storage sidings, the track is configured with the helix two on the left and the storage loops on the right of the photo. The shorter storage sidings will come from the left most point and the 2nd helix will be a mirror image of this end. This is a link showing the partial completed helix in operation with a single Colas 37 and a GWR 150 class 47 testing. Regards MrB
  20. Thank you for the photos robf. It's help me make my mind up, they have used the wrong body shells as per the catalogue. 97301 was an un-refurbished 37/0 with split head codes originally. Looks like they have used a centre head code refurbished class 37 shell. Regards Roy
  21. Sadly I wish that was the case, but all MK2Es from Hornby have the same under frame issues. I sadly have at least one of each livery and type and they are all the same, I really wish I hadn't bought any. Regards MrB
  22. Hello Brian, Hope you don't mind me asking, but what modifications were required to correct the height? I've stripped some of my coaches down and cannot see anything obvious other than the glazing pips on the inside of the body shell. Regards Roy
  23. jcredfer, Not one of mine but the chap has other videos which have landings too. I had to watch the video myself as i'm normally sleeping by take off as it's 4am start for me and a 8.30pm finish at the other end, a long day glad its only 10-11 times a year. Roy
  24. Jaz/Kal, This video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=13QPwjqIwj0 shows a typical helicopter take-off from Aberdeen. I know every flight I've been on does it like this and almost the same in reverse for landing. Offshore approach for landing depends on wind direction and takes into account any obsticles for 15nm. Sadly next flight in one is 0715hrs tomorrow, In the usual Bristows S92 G-CHYI helicopter. Roy

    Revised Mk3s?

I can only go on what I'm told, not something I've really looked in to as I took him at his word. I brought it up with him when I noticed they were using 9 coaches in the sets. He also commented that the MTU units made a noticeable difference to the acceleration of the sets.
