  1. Felt in a very bad condition, perhaps torn and exposing the roof timbers?
  2. Same here so I contacted accurascale (sales@accurascale.co.uk) and requested they hold back dispatch until I return home, a difficult decision I know as it delays me getting it. The replied that this was no problem and would wait for me to confirm when to dispatch, that's what I call great customer care
  3. I can't make the trip to visit as I have to travel down to Paignton to pick up a new puppy, hopefully someone may make a youtube recording too.
  4. That's a lovely drive, you'll enjoy the Piddle Valley
  5. Mine is the one on the right! Luvly jubly and well worth the wait
  6. Simon, you have my support, I'm coming on Sunday 10th and really looking forward to it.
  7. Thank you all for your advice, I'm in the middle of decorating 3 bedrooms at the moment so haven't had time to try and fit any kadees to the 2 pilchards I bought last month
  8. I know of one very large automated DCC model railway where 2 50p coins are welded together to form a 'T' which is then placed onto the track to make a short to immediately stop the train if there are any runaways or derailments. Very effective tool which only costs £1.
  9. Tom, Your modelling is excellent, one of the best on this forum, so don't worry. If it doesn't work first time then re-do it, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. The quality of your work is something that most of us here can only aspire to...........
  10. If its any consolation I don't think anyone is feeling 100% with the current situation in Europe, so in that respect you are not alone. It's nagging at the back of my mind all the time so I'm not happy.
  11. I really like this model railway and looking forward to seeing it in the flesh again, when's it's next outing going to be?
  12. And I work 4 days a week, so the answer is progress is slow compared to some of the excellent modellers on this forum.
  13. Model Railway Clubs are the same as local model shops, we need to use them (i.e. become a member) or we will lose them. Clubs contribute so much to the hobby, education, mentoring, friendship and not least model railway exhibitions. A lot of clubs are coming under increased pressure to survive, including the one I belong to as premises to rent become more expensive and membership numbers dwindle.
  14. So delivery looks like 2 months away, or 60 sleeps, not that I'm counting
  15. Hi Fran, Anything significant about April 18th I've received an invoice requesting payment by that date for the balance of money on my Pinza order - is this when you expect them to arrive? Cheers Steve
  16. Maybe the escape was removed before the cabin was built?
  17. Exactly what I've done. Instead of buying a Caprotti Black Five I've ordered an Accurascale Deltic, a big difference I know but Rule 1 applies in this case and it looks as if its going to be a lot better than any Hornby offering. The TV series on Hornby was an eye opener, if a loco manages to negotiate a series of points on the Hornby layout it was deemed to be a good runner and could enter production............Really???? I have far more confidence in the boys from Accurascale
  18. In which case I will do without in protest, I just don't like what Hornby are doing by manipulating retailers and ultimately us, the customer, they should be ashamed.
  19. Very prototypical to do this sort of work over the weekend, I hope you finished it by Monday morning
